The deposit is just a formality. A good dealership will give you the deposit back if you decide that's not the truck you want, because there should be no problem selling it. Or it could be applied to a different vehicle. With you putting a deposit on a particular truck that should also put a note in their books that this truck is for a customer so that another salesman won't sell it out from under you, although it has happened.

if you don't like the way Toyota limits your options, you have a choice to go elsewhere. no one is forcing you to buy a trd pro.

You're entirely correct. Might get a 17 Raptor instead.

Only the Raptor won't fit in my garage ... which is why I keep considering the taco

same issue we had, wanted a tundra, but it wont fit in the garage. that is #1 requirement for up here during the winters. so we picked up a Tacoma.

the warden still complains about wanting a tundra, then I remind her, sure get one, just have to leave it outside during the winters. shuts her up pretty quick.

That is even brilliant idea, and you don't have to trade the 16!

Tell the wifey due to the recent TX floods, you would feel safer for her to be in a Tacoma. So sacrifice your 16, and get "another" 17. She won't know the diff between a Pro and OR :D

I prefer the Tundra too, as the V8 is something I got used to it. It also fits in my garage.

HOWEVER, my issue is the ROADS leading up the house can't handle the Tundra on the roads. They are too narrow to get up there comfortably.

I would say more unlikely than likely.

I was wondering the same thing. Is this a sliding rear window like the 1st gen tundra or just the center piece of glass is remotely opened and closed.

Though its a prototype the ones we were seeing had the regular glass, there is speculation based on a order/build sheet that read something like "pwr-privacy-rear glass" for a TRD pro and a dealer manager saying the TRDs will get them standard that there may be one. But Toyota is conservative with changes, there is still no competition, the twins don't have power glass, Toyota's supplier already likely has produced for the current glass for next year, and some design retooling like deleting some of the storage space would need to be done to make it work. So I'm betting no, but I've been wrong before. We will see, if it is power it will be the standard slider likely.

the way the pic posted reads "slide+pwr+privacy rear" could be inferred that its a power sliding rear window.

how I see it as "slide+power" ie: power moonroof "+privacy rear"

this is the current option when you get certain packages that include the moonroof, even the brochure lists it as "Power tilt/slide moonroof" its just shortened in the pics to power+slide

the rear privacy is standard across the board for all Tacoma's.

even the brochure says "Sliding rear glass w/privacy glass" for all models.

also to add, this would be a major feature Toyota would flaunt around since its never been available ever on a Tacoma. not a 2nd year run of a new gen. maybe during the mid cycle refresh or a new gen.

just like it was flaunted when the tundra had a full rear powe sliding window aka 4runner style.

All I know is in the GST region we only have 1 manual on this allocation...I would be willing to bet the number is quite a bit higher than 4 for the entire country..

A lot of stuff, just ask and I'd be happy to tell you. Or we could wheeling/camping

You can always add a Magnesun Supercharger, that's the company that makes the TRD supercharger for the 4.0L Tacomas.

Me too! I pre-ordered my TRD pro a while back and already ordered parts for it lol. I'm going from an 07 2wd Tacoma to a Pro! Can't wait, but I'm spending too much money lol. I already emailed Magnesun to see if there's any interest in building one for the 3.5L since TRD discontinued the others

Just like with my 2015, I am going to sit back and wait for Toyota to get everything straightened out in 10 years to buy my next one lol.
