So I'm racking my brain to make a decision on what suspension I will be installing on my 2013 trd prerunner 2wd. Here's what options I've narrowed it down to

OME BP-51 2" Full kit adding LR UCA's or
Toytec Boss Full kit adding boss rear reservoir shocks and boss 2" leaf pack and LR UCA's

The shop that is quoting me has the OME setup costing me about 2k more than the boss set up. Is it worth it? Would appreciate any knowledge or help on making my decision. I am looking for the best ride possible, even if it means I need to hold off and save for a couple more months. Also this truck will see city driving 90% of the time and dirt roads only 10%.

Dirt roads and you wanna go with those kits!? You don't need a kit like that. Not even close. You can find stuff that will be more than enough for you at 1/3 the price.

Any recommendations? I am looking for a 2-3" lift that will keep the ride feeling as close to stock as possible. And I'd rather spend the money on quality parts than go with the cheapest route.

It's probably still overkill, but why not do boss kit without the resi and aal. Or a cheaper and still good route go ome springs with 5100's.

    Buy once, cry once.

I downgraded from Icons to 5100/OME and I hate it. The ride is horrible. Thankfully I just ordered a set of Radflo 2.5 coilovers.

As far as resi's, they are overkill for most.

Thanks for the recommendations, I tend to get myself riled up when shopping for my toys sometimes. Just wanted to make sure whatever I chose wasn't going to mess up the ride quality. For those of us with not as much knowledge just going for the most expensive kits can seem logical at the time haha.

What were you using them for? Sounds like OP isn't planning on wheeling at all. Just wanted the look of a lifted truck. That's why if he does wanna waste some money then the the regular boss kit. Good kit? Yes. Overkill for him? I think so.

Also if you're doing 2-3" lift, you don't need uca's.

Daily driving and occasional wheeling. If Op is willing to spent money on the BP-51 kit then he can also afford Kings, Icons, Fox or any other high end brand. Even if you don't Offroad the ride quality is greatly improved and you get the benefit of lifting your truck. One thing I have learned about suspension parts, don't skimp on quality and don't buy used.

Not always true. A few brands 2.5 coilovers require aftermarket UCA

My Bilstein 6112's ride better than factory suspension in every possible way and they were only $570.

My OME Setup with 887's and dakar leafs and Light racing Upper control arms rides a hell of a lot better than my 2016 SR factory Hitachi stock stuff!!!!

You look at getting spindles since you got a prerunner? Keeps the factory ride

I would vote for the OME setup. The ability to adjust compression and rebound is pretty slick.

Do keep in mind that you will loose the factory splash shields up front. Just in case you didnt know.

If you have any desire to do more offroading as time goes on or think you might, go with the nicer kit. I had 5100s on my tacoma. Now I have Icon on my 4runner and couldn't be happier.

I have the Toytec BOSS Suspension System 2 inch lift on my 2013 TRD Off Road and it works great for my commute. I've had it on my truck for about 10,000 miles now and no problems or bushing squeaking issues. I really like the ride and it handles big potholes on my mountain dirt road with ease. I drive up and down a twisty mountain and the BOSS coilovers with Eibach springs and Light Racing UCAs in front and BOSS shocks with Toytec AAL in rear work great. I do not see a need for reservoirs on my shocks even for my rugged trails, but they are cool looking. For your commute the Toytec BOSS Suspension System should work great. Save you some money too. I did eyeball the OME BP-51 Suspension and it looks amazing. They are pretty new and I'd like to see more info on them in the long run. If I didn't already have the Toytec BOSS, I would definitely get the OME BP-51.
