I am originally from California. I have been in FL for 11 years. I know exactly what you're saying.

Since 99.9% of the tacomas around here are stock and will never go offroad no, unless its an obvious mini bro dozer with monster stickers an light bars all over it. I like to make fun of jeepers though, i feel safe and secure since i have at least 500 zombie apocalypse response team jeeps pounding the pavement in my area at any one time in case the SHTF. I'm sure they do with me as well with my smashed and scraped up, rusty ass truck.

You are spoiled with SoCal weather and I completely understand that too. Great area, just too expensive of an area for me to have a crash pad and to keep as a legal residence.

I used to work some in Thailand ... have a few good friends there now ... and I probably had different experiences (not into L/Bs') than most tourists. Laos is cool place now and a few years behind Thailand (except for internet). I like Thailand when you get away from tourist areas ... especially like smaller cities, where they do vehicle & military equipment testing and the smaller cities north of BKK.

FL is a nice state ... depending on what you want ... getting too crowded there too. I just need a small place in USA to keep as a legal residence like in the past.

Maybe I can test drive Isuzus (many diesels there), Colorados & Tacomas/HiLuxs in Thailand. Lexus has a private contractor who does testing for them ... and the US $$$ goes very far there.

Agree. These days I prefer Malaysia and Indonesia to Thailand. I am spoiled by So Cal weather, though I lived in many other parts of the world, and have spent 6 years in Saudi/Iran.

Was in Montana recently. Would love a summer home there, but winter is unbearable. PHX is too dry and arid.

Ideal world for me would be the green beauty of Vancouver, with the population of Montana, with year round non humid weather of Los Angeles :D

I was in CA a few weeks ago, visiting family. We were in Riverside, Redondo, Santa Monica, Gardena, Torrance, Carpenteria, and Bakersfield.

There are days I would love to move back, but living 5 minutes from the beach on a teacher's salary is pretty damn nice.
