    Check out the build
To all my EAF brothers, I have a quandary.

I have convinced my wife to go for a Habitat, but for a while I have been thinking of building a trailer.

I recently came across this and it got me thinking since it was the same price. Since the family has been growing, I thought a trailer may be nicer since the our 4Runner can tow it too. I can have all the stuff loaded up and I can just hitch it and go.

On the other hand the Habitat has a smaller footprint, and some of the places I have gone to, I don't know if a trailer would make it. But I've never tired with a good trailer either, and I have to load it up overtime I go out.

    Input and thoughts?

    ...too much shit to list.
Coming from a guy who has a trailer, I'm a fan of them. As you stated, prepping for camping events are effortless now. I ended up buying extra everything (pots, pans, utensils, etc). and keep all that shit fully packed and in the trailer all the time. Just hook it up, pack beer and food, fill up the water tank and I'm ready for camping. I can be ready for a camping event with an hour notice now.

x2. My wife will say something like "we don't need another one of those for the trailer" and I say BULLSHIT. A big point is to not spend all day and night packing and prepping and forgetting shit and having arguments. You'll have to prep food and water anyway, but make it stop there.

I like having all my arguments well in advance....:homer:

This would be my ideal end game for solo/kid trips. One of the biggest pains is packing/unpacking the truck for trips and having to reorganize everything anytime we want to move the truck. Once my wife gets a full time job I will pursuing a trailer.

For anyone looking for work, I was just informed that our stack of Contra Costa County's open positions has been updated in our break room. When I went to look, there was a large stack with a variety of different positions available throughout different departments of the County. Hope this helps someone!

I'm obviously biased, but a trailer works for most people.

Another benefit of a trailer is that you can leave your campsite setup and go explore in the truck.

On road trips, we try to do a trail that leads somewhere else (as opposed to out and back), and keep going once we get out on the other end. I like being fully contained. Also hate turning around in trails, and it would be tough with a trailer. Usually don't camp in the same spot for 2 nights, and.... really like standing up in the camper. Changes everything.

Great for 4-season camping. The more comfortable I make it, the more the family is willing to go...and the more I get to camp.

Downsides are pretty obvious, but it's not my DD and there's no going back for me. Going to test its off-road worthiness at Slickrock in 10 days.

The AT is a better version of the Flippac and not much heavier than a shell/ RTT combo. Modular cabinets could be easily mounted and removed when needed. Keep those fully stocked and packing for camping would go quick.

Brainstorming about off- road camping setups consumes a lot of my day, unfortunately. But I'm usually only thinking about my needs, and yours is obviously different. Really depends on your wife's willingness to go out in the cold to pee at night.

    Short answer: AT Habitat!

Geez man quit being so cheap and treat your wife to the 5 star suite of tents.

But seriously, tent will probably be more useful the first trip out compared to LT
