I sold a couple of lockable, bed cubby doors to a TC member. Unfortunately he was not forthcoming with his location and it wasn't until the sale was complete and the doors were shipped that I discovered he actually resides in Canada, in spite of the fact the shipping address he provided was a U.S. address. He also doesn't list his country on his profile.
The result of this is that I got slammed with higher PayPal fees and although the doors were received by his "agent" on June 24, 2016, I still do not have payment for the doors.
I have taken action with my PayPal account since this occurred (NO MORE international payments . . . period), but the damage has been done with this sale.
I'll end this little story here since I don't have a single kind thing to say about any part of this transaction.

If you shipped to a US addy why were you charged more by PP?

I'm pretty sure when you receive payment from an international buyer, PayPal charges you another 1% on top of their typical fees.

I was not made aware the buyer was from Canada until he used a Canadian credit card for the purchase.

Omar RVA is correct. Instead of 2.9% plus $0.30 USD of the amount you receive, since he used an international credit card, the fee is 3.9% transaction fee plus a fixed fee based on currency received.

He has received the doors (delivery confirmed) and yet PayPal will not release the funds. In fact, just yesterday I was informed by a PayPal supervisor (hope you like speaking to the Philippines if you call PayPal's customer service) yesterday that PayPal had not received the funds from the credit card used. I personally think that is a load of hooey. My guess is after I sell the remaining few items from my last Tacoma that I won't use PayPal again. I should have known their operations would be shady since they are owned by eBay.

PayPal is good until either the buyer or seller acts pulls a fast one, leaving the opposite party screwed.

    Bummer man.

Is there like an estimate date for funds release listed on the transaction? Even when I sell via eBay I don't just get the money ASAP. Last thing I sold took a few days AFTER delivery before funds released. Just the way it works in their system. I'm assuming you added the official tracking number stuff to the PayPal transaction as well?

Looks like money was upfront given he said seller paid with international CC. But anyone can pay and then do a chargeback if they want.

With all my gear sold through PayPal I don't ship until I initiate a transfer to my bank. Can PayPal cancel a transfer in this case or are you just told that the funds aren't available when trying to transfer.

PayPal policy favors the buyers so much is almost dangerous to use.

And the funds are instantly available right off the bat? It might be because I never verified my account and only ever temporarily add bank info to transfer from PayPal.

there's a way to resolve the issue with paypal and still be happy with the resources they provide. members must have "verified" accounts meaning their bank account is attached to their profile verse just a credit card... the money from verified account to verified account is instant with zero delay in transaction. I had the same thing happen only a much larger sum of money unfortunately and was recommended to deal with only verified accounts... hope it works out for you!

I sell on ebay, not up to the 200-300 sales required for instant transfer. I usually get my money 2-3 business days after USPS tracking shows it was delivered.

WTF is TC and why do people still have a problem talking with support centers located in another country? It's 2016.
