I did the 3/1 level with AAL in the rear and running 285/70/17. I ended up level. I don't think I would care running nose up. I think for a couple hundred on AAL it would be worth it.

I put this in the ICON dynamics thread but figure this may be better addressed here.....

    ______________________________________________________________________

I am going to throw it out there because it needs to be,,,,,
Who is getting a true 2" lift above factory?

My measurements pre-lift for a 2016 DCSB TRDOR 4x4 - center of hub to fender lip

    LF -20.5
    RF -21
    LR -21.75
    RR -22

Knowing that the we come with a 1" lift from factory seems with Icon, Fox, King, Allpro etc it would be easy to get to this:
AS an example for simplicity, no additional lift although desired for .5" or so, for LF lean.

    LF -22.5 (23)
    RF -23
    LR -23-24
    RR -23-24

    - trying to keep it simple.

The SR5's and TRD 2WD are achieving this with no issues, no UCA;s even, and a boat load of cab and UCA clearance. I can only attribute this to the 4x4 front axle position requiring UCA;s to clear the cab with bigger tires....... 33's. For the sake of this conversation 285-70-17 with Method NV's for the mix.

The 4x4 lifts seem to be having difficulty getting the a full 2" extra for a full 3" of lift. WHY? (TRDOR DCSB)
I have not seen anyone ask or get a response from ICON, FOX, KING as to why not.

If I am wrong please spell it out because I cannot find an answer anywhere.....
The pisser is it is holding me up to picking a kit, seems complacence rules after spending 2k or more for a lift ...I for one would would like to be able to get this and a bit more to accommodate the LF lean issue without a spacer.

Can anyone including the vendors @ToyTec Lifts @HeadStrong Off-Road @allpro @SDHQ OFFROAD ring in to shed some light on this?
Seems to be a fair question that would be nice to hear an answer that rings true to G3 lifts. TIA

^ The weight of the front clam shell and axles maybe? Either that or there is a different part number for the UCA and LCA that might be limiting the down travel and therefore the lift.

    No takers?
I have only seen several posts that had post measurements that seemed pretty huge, pre-settlement measurements....and very few if any pre and post measurements to accompany the nice pics and lift type. I have seen some very unsettlling pics of lifts that are just scary as hell, and some look damn good...I will tell you this the Icon and Kings lifts by far seem to at least look better, and those who implemented them said good things about them...but some who did 5100's not so much, understandably, not much from Toytec and OME always seemed like a good choice but with its banging noise issue...I am gonna pass...Icon beckons but they sure are proud of their stuff..

Would be nice to hear from the vendors to input a little more on lifts that settle out at 2" above factory in the front. For my money and time I want to be able to have the choice to lift 1-2.5" above factory and settle where things are right and I like it.

The problem is the suspension is only designed to work decently in the 1" to 3" range. Toyota knew the front end was heavier then the 2nd gen which is why the OEM spring rate is 712lbs. Anything aftermarket would need to have a least a 700lb spring on it to achieve and maintain up to 3"s of lift. So if you get an adjustable coilover like the ICON and get it with a 700lb. 14" spring(ICON only supplies a 700lb 13" Spring) then you should be able to hit the sweet spot you are looking for.

I just got back from the alignment shop. I did Icon 2.5 extended travel coilovers in front Built Right Uca's and Icon progressive 3 leaf pack in rear with overload left in and the icon 2.0 shocks. I ended up getting 2" all the way around. That is what I was looking for as I wanted to keep the factory rake.
I had to set the driver side at a hair over 2"of thread showing and passenger at 1 5/8" of thread showing. I was hoping to not have to crank them that much but... Anyway I guess you could go higher but you would be going over what icon suggests. The ride like everyone says is stiffer but takes the bumps and holes great! I am running 265/75/16 Toyo at2's and have no plans on going bigger. Truck is a DCLB OR 4x4.
Center of hub to fender is
    Df22 1/2"
    Pf22 5/8"
Dr23 1/4" full tank of gas
    Pr24"
    Hope this helps someone. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Looks great! Not that you would want to undo what you did there but you could get some 700lb springs on the front (they come with 650lb) and then you could take some of that preload off. I have a set of 700lb springs sitting in the garage. I just need the time to take it all apart and swap them out.

i disagree with this statement, factory does, but the 70's look pretty good if you have an aggressive tire, although 275 would be ideal

I thought about that but was worried they would cause a stiffer ride. ?
Hard to figure out 650 lb springs with more preload or 700lb with less preload?

No adjustment made to the coilovers and I haven't had an issue with rubbing. At the same time, I'm running stock UCA's. I got the alignment as close to spec as possible. So far so good. I'll definitely be getting aftermarket UCA's when I'm able to afford it tho.

I have the same icon stage 2 kit just can't decide on tire size for my TRD pro wheels.

    275? 285?

How do you like or dislike the factory spring ride now? OEM spring rate is 712lbs.

Well, it it way stiffer. With stock suspension it would float over small bumps and holes like they weren't there at all. Over big bumps and holes it would almost keep bouncing and take a second to recover. On the road it felt like a Cadillac for the most part.
Now it reacts to all the small imperfections in the road. It doesn't beat you to death, but you know they are there. Really it feels like my 08 with 5100's at 1.75, but when it comes to the big bumps and holes it soaks them up smooth and quick. I like that way better than stock. So for on the hwy stock suspension is hard to beat. On my terrible county road I like the new suspension better.
