Yeah, I followed your tracking. You crossed out an individual tracking number but left the master lol.

While yours arrived Friday it showed a departure Saturday morning. Then nothing after a UT scan until it arrived last night.

Mine doesn't have a departure.

I'm hoping they dropped a bunch off Monday evening and maybe scanned one twice and missed mine. Having a pile of them could explain your scratch/chip issue.

 

Rhinoliner spray over powdercoat sound like a good fix? or whats the consensus on that rework?

 

+1 - Fedex original date was 6/30 but my tail light guards showed up today. It's the little things...

Someone should probably start an AP and Coleslaw investigation thread with the detective work done earlier in this thread. I just want to know is AP connected to any of this. Theres just way to many ties to AP for them to not be.

 

Just make sure the colors are close. Having a scratched bumper isn't a big deal as long as the structure is fine. Still seems like you got a great deal.

 

at this point does it really matter if AP is connected

if TW members are getting a $1300 AP clone bumper for $600, keep making them and keep selling them

Ya just minor surface scratches the powdercoat. My main enemy now is rust, thinking a good spray over once will help keep her conditioned for a resale value of 1000

Personally i think it matters. Im not brand loyal to them but i think some are on here. If other tacoma products surface on ebay from Mobtown or Prefrey for 1/2 price the forums will be another shitstorm. Im in the market for a swing-out style rear bumper but would like to know if Prefrey or others are superior? Who can tell when there all made in china or are they? Best thing for these competitors of AP is to be as transparent as possible with us or most of us will be jumping on the china shaggin wagon.

honestly i think this is just the beginning for these offroad companies. If anything this just proves, i can reverse engineer an AP swing out and have a chinaman make it for me instead of "AP". I can easily do that given a bumper to work with and to generate the 3d cad model. Something tells me though that this style bumper will come out in a few months from KO-offroad or ill just phone John and tell him to add a swing out style for me and ill buy 10 and resale on craigslist in my area

 

Maybe. But remember, these are Ebay bumpers. Much like everything else sold on Ebay, it's low end materials and crappily made.

 

Maybe AP is currently doing a new bumper design, opted to sell the rights off to this one. Gave the go ahead to bring a few batches to market while still keeping their current line open with more options. Once the redesign comes out DV8 will be the sole producer of this bumper.

Everything is speculation, doubt we ever get an answer to the what ifs and what nots.

No. But most of everything that comes from Ebay has been shit. Headlights, stereo boxes, aftermarket fenders, etc, etc,. This is just another thing to add to the list.
