Smaller shackle would lower the ride height, improve the angle, and not affect the load carrying ability.
I'm curious as to which leaf pack are you running?

Maybe it was meant for stock leafs only?

For the life of me, I couldn't find info on dakars being longer/shorter than stock leafs eye to eye.
I was going to suggest trying going back to the stock shackle, but it doesn't look like it will fit, will it?

I don't think the stock shackle works with that style as it includes the top bushing instead of re-using the stock shackle, good thing is new plates can be cut to custom lengths

i remember them being around .25" shorter than the OEM ones, but I chalked it up as having more arch if that makes sense. honestly, I'm not concerned with the angle at all. It actually rides much smoother than before. And yeah, the OEM shackle wont fit. much more easy to make custom length shackles tho lol.

Oh, I see, same flattened length, but with the arch the eyes are closer. I guess you could re-drill the new shackles too.

Just an update about my Goodyear Wrangler tires and the steering wheel shake. I took it to Toyota for maintenance and I asked them to road force balance the tires. They said that there was too many weights on the wheels and that it was way off balance. So far with the driving I've done, the shake at 40-50 appears to be gone. I have to test it out throughout the rest of the week and I'll know for sure if it's fixed or not but just in case you guys have problems with those tires make sure you get it road force balanced. I called Goodyear (Stadium) and they told me they don't have a road force balancer just the regular one.

You could even use the shackles that Allpro stocks for the different year trucks now. They have several different sizes. I asked Archive if he could fab me stock length shackles but he said no.

sounds like my duratracs. took way too much weight to balance, but in the end, I think another part of the problem was an alignment issue. did you have your alignment checked? cause even after balancing my tires, I had a shake from 35-45.

you guys should also check your bushings. mine had enough play that they ruined my mtzs and made them wear uneven.

Wow, I liked my mtzs. I did rotate them frequently, though. Every 3K since I do mostly city driving.

My fada even had uneven wear on his Mtz. Those tires are killa looking. But the new style mtz p3 looks less aggressive looking...

The day I got my Duratracs from Goodyear they did alignment too. But I drove a lot yesterday and it's way better.
