Started the scratch coat today. Quickcrete Stone veneer mix says 4.3l to 6l of water per bag. I did 5l on the first bag and it was no where near the consistency for a scatch coat or to motar to the stones on. I was probably at 8 to 9 to get it to where it should be. Dried fine hopefully it doesn't fuck me down the road.

I leave mine up alot when I'm in the backyard I'm trying to break the habit. And my shed door is a overhead garage door style that if you don't open it right will launch of the tracks and make a ton of noise. I have left it that way. Just so I will know if anyone tried to get into it at night. Especially since some moron popped my French doors with a screw driver one night while I was home in bed. Longoing story short the dog ran him off before I did.

    Oz,
I forgot to mention I am installing criple studs from strongback to rafter. That should help.

More of a backyard improvement. But put in 8 ton of river rock on, what we're just a bunch of wild flowers with weeds mixed in, hillsides. Wife and I got tired of dealing with the upkeep. So now? No more upkeep. :D

My back though... Had to wheel it from the street which is a good distance uphill. Glad it's done. Me and a buddy of mine. One less thing on the "to do list".

Best grout sealer and easiest to apply...and go!

Prefer something that's easy to apply and relatively affordable. Probably gonna have to be able to get from Home Depot or lowes.

It's 12x14. Center of the gambrel is almost 6' from the loft.

Barge rafter in the front extends 30"; plan was standard 12".

Looks good! And you are getting more done than I have on mine! But this weekend should see some progress. Ive got half the roof on, just need to finish up the other side, soffets, ramp, door, and trim. Then figure out if im staining or painting

I go back and forth. Paint would match the house. Stain would look different but i like the look.

This one I'm using vinyl left over from a previous siding project, matches the house perfectly.
The next gambrel I build later this year will be painted.

Next up Stone. We set the big Green egg in place to for the holiday and to check clearance, I have to use the thinner stones behind it.

No joke on that my basement needs a final coat and sanding. Then paint, ceiling...
My commercial project ends in August fingers crossed... I can't wait to not drive 86 miles a day...

Anyone build a cupola? Trying to find one with a witch's peak covered in copper or metal.
