Good to hear.....having a hard time getting anyone to bite. Looking at the 3 surrounding states. Did you provide them with an invoice number and negotiated from there?

same here but that was in 2013. 2 dealers I was working with said price to order or buy off lot would be same. I guess all has changed with the Gen 3. One reason my next one will be a full size. I refused to play the mark up just because it is a Tacoma game in 1980 and will do it again.

    Dallas/Fort Worth area
    From the Factory: Towing Package
From Gulf State Toyota: Shark running boards, Bed LED lights, Floormats, Mud Guards, Window Tint, Paint Protection Package

    $38,016 Sticker Price
    $34,150.00 Sales Price
    + 6.25% TX sales tax + $337 ($150 doc) in fees = $36,621.37 OTD

I'm sure I could've done better (my target was $33,800) if I pushed harder and was willing to walk away, but I had already walked away from two other dealers who swore Tacomas were God's gift to humanity and wouldn't budge from a couple hundred off sticker.

It was nice to finally talk with a reasonable sales manager and I enjoyed the overall experience at this dealership (Texas Toyota of Grapevine) so I accepted their offer.

Agreed. They had some crazy add-on crap on there. They listed the truck online for $36k, but on the lot the sticker said $39k. Had to get huffy with them to honor their advertised price. I'll never go to Toyota of Irving again.

I would have told them to take the nitro off. That is what I did at Toyota of Rockwall. After we got past the nitro said by the way I want a 3rd key. Also specified no vehicle shield. Vehicle shield and nitro were $600. They advertised a low price hoping for the bait and switch.

...^^^... FWIW ... I have never seen where a dealer removed all or most of the air in the tires and put nitrogen.

When a dealer lists ... "Nitrogen Filled Tires" (and charges for it to be that way) ... I believe that someone could legally challenge this with a success.

COSTCO does fill new tires with nitrogen ... but I have never seen a dealer take a new vehicle and bleed the air out and them refill.

Take a "Nitrogen Meter" with you to the dealer and see what they say ... lol

2016 Tacoma TRD OR DCSB 4x4, Auto, Magnetic Gray, Black/Orange Interior - Built in June 2016
Towing Package, Carpet floor mats w/ door sill protectors
    MSRP= $35849

    $33500 sale price
    $300 processing
    $315.50 MD tags, title
    $2028 MD tax
    $36143.50 Out the door

No trade.....I put $13k down and financed the rest

I searched around for about 2 months for a Magnetic Gray TRD OR with the Black interior; this was the only one I found in the Baltimore/Washington area. Luckily this was also the best price I found for the specs I wanted, most other dealers in the area wanted at least $700 more and were not willing to negotiate on the price. Also during my search I found that the manual trans TRD OR's were priced only about $500 cheaper than the autos. I test drove a manual and liked it a lot, but I could not justify losing crawl control and push-button start for the $500 difference. I've also been in enough traffic the last 2 days of owning the truck to reassure myself that I made the right choice going with the auto.

That's the same sales price I received for a TRD OR DCSB 4x4 6MT out of San Jose. It wasn't the color I want, but its a nice offer to use to negotiate the truck I want down in price :)

I bought the same truck out of state (OR). Got a much better price. Just in the middle of driving it back down to CA.

Congrats on picking yours up. How about a pic at some scenic location on the trip back? Maybe inside a redwood or something! :D

Safe travels and a big thread with your truck when you return!! I love that new vehicle feeling!

And to somewhat keep this thread on topic. there is a Toyota dealer in San Jose who puts on these little kragen rubber strips across the doors. They call 'em door protectors and get this; price on the sticker is $700. lol

Next time i'm there, i'll take a pic. It's hilarious.
