Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.

Aftermarket intakes just make more noise. A lot of people have already proven that the stock filter and intake flow more air than the throttle body can take in as it is. So the only way to get more airflow is to force it (supercharge/turbo) or find/design a larger throttle body.

What about combined with a larger cat-back exhaust? Wouldn't the combined difference still be better than stock? Even just a little? Shortly before and after my upgrades i pulled my dads pop up tent trailer. I noticed the biggest difference between 1800 and 2800 rpms (i know this is mainly due to the exhaust). And not just in noise... Because, sure, it was louder. But i didnt have the same lag as i did when it was stock. It carried, i felt, better acceleration through the rpm range. Especially when loaded with the trailer.

E Hausa can make a slight difference in allowing the exhaust gasses out better. Sometimes better sometimes worse. But on the intake side without forcing it only so much air is going in

@koda925 - Curious if you ever put the truck on the dyno before/after the mods.

I live in Florida so no emissions testing here. And I don't plan on running anything bigger than a 33 inch tire at the moment. Maybe 35s a while down the road. Anyway, 4.56s seem like overkill and would absolutely kill my top end, but 4.10s just don't seem like they would offer enough of a change from the 3.73s to make it worth doing the swap.

No, I did not dyno it. So i dont have evidence-based facts. However, JLaScala made an excellent point on reading that thread. There is a guy that posted in there with a dyno sheet before and after. While he did upgrade quite a bit more than I, it proves increase with intake and exhaust and MAS calibration. I also run premium which can also help the HP increase. That is also discussed in that thread quite a bit.

Wow... After reading the thread JLaScala posted, you even show up in that one trying to tell everyone in there that they're wrong about HP gains. Even after the dyno sheet was right in front of your eyes. You need to pull that stick a little further out of your ass bro. Its very clear there are ways to gain power without the SC.

I never said a supercharger was the only way.

You said you had to spend 3000 to 10000 for real power gains. 3000 is just shy of the sc. The whole post was about what you CAN do for power gains... Not what you CANT do. Why dont you give some people some suggestions instead of telling everyone they're wrong... We're all here to help each other. Not run around telling everyone they're wrong. You said spend 3k to 10k... But you didnt say on what... If nothing you say is helpful, dont waste your time typing..

Stop right there. Even in that thread I acknowledged that dropping $3000+ and heavily rebuilding the intake and exhaust would net you pretty decent gains after a solid tuning. You are right in your assumption, however, that cost is very near to what a supercharger runs.

    You aren't proving you're point.

My point is that you can get HP with intake and exhaust.

You're not going to get real meaningful power gains with just an exhaust, it has been proven many times that the intake on these trucks is more than sufficient. You're comparing $3000+ worth of work to a $300 bolt on intake and muffler/cat back swap. It doesn't hold water, bud.

I never said i gained 30HP, just that there was a noticeable gain, probably more in torque, between 1800 and 2800 rpms. I spent 600 and i think it was more than worth it and i noticed a difference. And hopefully that information is helpful to the person that started this thread... Since thats why we're here, right?

Wow, calm down guys. Everyone knows all you need for more power is a devil horn emblem and some super devil juice.

I've thought about trying to add some pep to my truck, but it always came down to "not worth it" for me. Good to know there IS some opportunity to add power without the elusive SC.

I read it. I see that there's lots of guys arguing that you CAN get more power out of bolt ons, but most of them are $300-$600 and just aren't worth your money. I did find a bullydog tuner for the truck though. Anyone know anything about that?
