Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Don't fear friends, I'll be talking to Claremont Toyota parts dept later today!

Has anyone thought about making their own skid plates?

No need for a welder. Just some way to cut and bend it. Drill a few holes and boom done. Just curious if anyone has done or tried it. I don't have access to bending or cutting... but measuring all the specs and angles needed I can do, then sending that to a shop to be made wouldn't be hard. Idk how much a shop would charge to do something like that though.

Front and transmission are all I need. Maybe fuel tank. Fronts are around ~300 (after shipping), transmission ~240 (after shipping), but if I could save 100-200 just measuring them and making my own I'm all for it.

I inquired through somewhat of a friend of mine who has a hotrod shop local to me but with his overload of work hasn't really worked out!He has obviously everything for fabrication!I've bugged him a bit recently on making me something to replace the plastic piece that attaches to the bumper that sits underneath the grill area!Haven't cared for that grey piece of plastic pretty much since i purchased my truck brand new in 2012!Love my Pelfreybilt skid and future skids though!

That's actually what I was looking at when I thought about this. I couldn't look up a shipping estimate so I checked somewhere else that was 65 for shipping so just estimated it all. 150 for all of that actually isn't bad haha.
But with how simple the shape is, I'm still thinking they'd be easy to have made.

Boxrocket made some for his truck. You can use an angle grinder to thin down the metal and bend it yourself at home. But you will need to weld the are back after bending to strengthen it. I believe you can buy the metal at various stores for less than $100 for 3/16. I was looking into making a transmission skid but haven not gotten around to it since I no longer have access to a welder. Schorr Metals was supplier that I was recommended to contact.

I'll ask my friend if he can talk with Bryan Macky who runs and owns Macky Hotrods!I don't personally know him but have met him before and i'm pretty sure he's the type of guy who's willing to do anything other than custom hotrod work!I'll find out and let you know!

    Thank you Ron!
No rush, after my leaf springs truck mods are going to have to wait until my bills are paid first haha. But skids are on the to-do list.

Thanks. I thought they could span the gap and just mount front and back. This is my first time looking into skids.

    Oooooh... I didn't know that
