Yes did line it up for the looks, and because in my case (leer 100r) it was just inboard of the end of the reinforced part of the roof. I figured the wider the better

Yesterday I went up from the stock 265/65r17 size that were on the truck when I bought it to 285/70r17's. I also installed a 3" leveling kit. Now I've seen plenty of arguments on here as to what triming is necessary to properly fit 285's. I know every one of our trucks may be slightly different but I for one had no triming to do, at all. I was expecting to do at least the CMC but that was not needed. It actually clears the cab mount by a good bit. However, I had previously removed the mud flaps and the fender well a while back before I even thought about going to a bigger size tire. So that would have more than likely had to have been done with the 285's. My UCA's do rub but my spacers should be in today (ordered over a week ago ). This is just my experience going up to 285's

I may be wrong but I think most chopping would need to be done when trying to stuff the tires at full lock. Truck looks great !

 

Not too bad, I hit two dear not long ago and they caused more damage than what I'm seeing on your truck. The 4runner took the biggest hit. I learned that in Texas (and it is a battle), any vehicle less than two years old should get OEM product put back on. Geico insurance wanted to put the Taiwan parts back on. I was really focused on getting the OEM fender and headlight (although I got everything OEM) because of the quality of materials in the metal fender and aftermarket headlights fade quicker. Good luck and don't make friends with the bodyshop, they work with the insurance company.

 

This will most likely change when I get the spacers on and try to stuff it, but It is in no way rubbing anything at full lock. Except for the little bit on the UCA.

 

Did a test fit this morning and shortly after drove down to Big O to get the install done. Extremely happy with the results and the stance looks great. I was already breaking necks just leaving the parking lot.

 

Well I do agree with you, stuffing and adding the spacers will almost guarantee that triming will be needed. And appreciate it!!

You need to take your coil assembly out out and then articulate it locked front and back to truly see if it clears. I would wait to do this until after you get the spacers on.

 

That is exactly what the plan is! I was just trying to show that it is possible to get it rode worthy and functional without all of the cutting. But I'd rather have it fully functional on and off road with no possible issues at all. So I'm sure I'll be posting pictures of the trimming process after I get the spacers on and start riding on top of shit lol

 

Well shit I'd say you're doing pretty good for having 305s, at least all your down to is the easy plastic trim every now and then. I was just happy to not have to do the CMC or any other cutting just to get it down the road with out raising hell lol
