Ya too bad the sign that the residents put up didn't say where to go.. Cause I still ended up going in just to make sure that I didn't miss anything. Best thing was when we parked we ended up taking the trail on the right side which is super steep and slippery. The mother in law fell a few times. Then we get to the bottom and we were forced to cross the river so I ended up going by myself since nobody else wanted to get wet... O well next time I'll have more time to get better pictures.. The road least traveled is always the most fun.

If you still have wobble after rebalancing several times, ask them to break down the tires and rotate them on the rim.

The old rule of thumb is that the manufacturers will indicate the heaviest side of the tire. That is marked with a dot and goes by the valve stem.

It's been a while since I worked at the tire shop, but that always worked well.

If they are chunky/heavy tires, you're screwed anyway. :D

if your coming out of bend through sisters and the The McKenzie River Byway is open you should check out the proxy falls, its good stuff. Always love taking that road as well through the lava beds afterwards.

    Can't wait to go back.

My cousin just bought 5 acres outside Redmond on the Deschutes. I've volunteered to watch their house whenever they are out of town

So I found out yesterday I am not the only one with retrofits in bend now.. Saw a slick white 2013-2015taco with retros and I think an Apollo shroud.

Broken Top is one of my fave hikes. Tons of snow up there yet tho. You can hike it if that's your plan and don't mind the snow and slush. Unfortunately I doubt the road to the upper TH is open yet. So a hike in from Todd Lake would be necessary. About 6 miles up from there to the top. Shave off 3 if the road to the upper is open which I doubt it is, usually end of July, early August for that one.
Alternate plan: Just hike Todd Lake and get tons of pics of Broken Top from there. Enjoy either way. :) End with a Cascade Lakes Hiway Loop drive, the long way back to 97. Beautiful back in there.

Thanks that's kind of what I was thinking I figured Todd Lake would be the end of the road for us, but being the adventurous type I was thinking of "trying." Thanks for the reminder on Cascade Lakes Highway, we'll take that back to Bend and end it by drinking beers at Cascade Lakes Brewing!

Gate was still closed after Todd Lake. Bummer. Lake was cool, first time up there. Had a scare leaving, my dog jumped in my truck, kinda slipped and fell out backwards and got his back leg caught between my slider and rocker. Cried bloody murder, I thought he broke his leg. He limped for a couple minutes but seems fine now.

Had a fantastic weekend in your neck of the woods. I love it down there, we are giving serious thought to relocating.

Glad you enjoyed our neck of the woods. Why on earth would you want to give up the rain and traffic?

Making a trip down to Crater Lake at month's end. Plan on camping near Bend the first night, and down near Crater Lake the next. Definitely want to avoid campgrounds at all cost, so wanted to pop in her and see if there were any suggestions on where to camp / what to see around Bend / Crater Lake.

    Thanks!
