I would call a wrecker and show up there with them to get truck and pay them to tow it to a place that can fix it. Fuck paying these jerkoffs another nickel.

And then do this as was suggested..........."Most lawyers offices will answer a couple questions free of charge. Call a local law office to pick their brain, and asses from there. The shop could be breaking some law you (and they) don't know about, and the problem could solve itself from there.".............and sue them for the cost of the tow, the errant labor charges, the broken shock, cost of a real place fixing truck, time missed at work, cost of a rental, lawyers fees & anything else that applies.

Ok I just talked to my dad and here is what we are going to do. Please give opinions. Currently he is returning the truck to stock. I will go pay him the fee we had originally arranged for him to fix the first screwup. I will pay this charge with my dad's credit card so that I can dispute it. I will register a formal complaint with his filthy ass and then get the hell out of there with the most rake anyone has ever had on a truck. The charge will be disputed and maybe I'll have to go to small claims court but I don't think there is much I can do about the busted shock.

nah, go with my idea. Tell them to not touch anything else. The wrecker can tow it with back wheels on dolly or ground. Get your broken shit and all other oem parts and put them in the bed and head out. Don't trust these fucks to put another wrench on your truck. They might be prone to fuck it up more. If you pay them then dispute that, that gives them ammo against you in court.

Honestly I'm not really sure what the BBB is. Better Business Bureau? And my dad doesn't think we would win in small claims court considering where his shop is located

yes, Better Business Bureau. Now I'm curious...why would the location of the shop matter for the lawsuit?

It's in a poor, rural area where they would probably have sympathy on the guy just for running a business

    Oh for fucks sake.

Buy another shock and chalk it up as a life lesson.

Anything else and you're swimming in a circle.

20% tint on all windows, Deckplate mod, satoshi-ish grille, blacked out and/or body matched emblems, rattle canned rims, red l.e.d. interior lights, bilstein 5100's and OME 881 coils , deaver 8 leaf pack, 1.5" lift shackle, alpine sound system, 55w HID lightforce 140 and 170 fogs
Tell them to return your truck to stock free of charge, to buy you a new shock since they broke it, and that they won't see a dime of any original install costs until that happens. If they try to keep your truck then you just tel them that every day they choose not to order a new shock and put you back to stock is just increasing the size of the lawsuit you're gonna file.

First off, you are winning by NOT having them do anything else to your truck and not paying them another penny. Is your dad a lawyer? If not then ask a lawyer after your truck is safe. Hell, tow it home then to another shop when you find one. I pay twice for that before paying those dummies to do anything. Call a meet and get local TW members to drop by and get truck right then just pay for alignment. Just pay TW guys in beer after they're done, lol

yeahhh...that doesn't change liability in the eyes on the law. The judge doesn't go "yeah you're liable...but your area is poor so nevermind."

But small claims court judges aren't exactly known to uphold the law

Sounds like if they're in a poor area even a threat of a nice little lawsuit would probably make them think twice about fixing what they fucked up. Sure it's what, maybe a $75 part, but the simple fact is they fucked up and need to fix it. It's not like you just aren't happy with how the truck looks and want them to put it back to stock just cuz.

That's just an excuse to not even try to force them to fix the problem they caused.

If you're happy with your own proposed "solution," then by all means follow through with it. I personally wouldn't settle for anything less than them replacing the shock at their own expense and setting it to the correct setting like they should have the first time.
