6-speed guys: at 35mph, what gear are you in?

Let's say you're in town, driving on a long stretch of road that's a 35mph zone. What gear do you choose to cruise along in, when you're neither accelerating or slowing down? More an idle curiosity question than anything else. I choose 3rd gear, but if we change it to 40mph, I choose 4th.
Random question, I know. Gimme a break, I'm bored.

5th. 6th if it's not uphill. I think. I don't look at miles per hour I guess, but I think that's about 60 km/h.

Edit: 60 km/h equals 37.3 mph. So I'd probably be in 5th at 35.

 

Dang, in 3rd at 35mph, I am at 2200RPM. In 5th you guys gotta be at like 1000RPM.

 

The 4.0 is fine at 1500rpm. Even less if you're not going up a hill.

 

4th/5th

 

I would probably use 4th. I rarely even use 5th gear, I usually go from 4th to 6th.

 

4th or 5th unless towing or hauling a load.

 

Just checked and I'm at 1500 in 5th gear at 35mph. I'm still on the stock dunlops though.

 

Depending on how long of a stretch, I'm usually in 4th. I feel that it still gives me a little "pep" to accelerate out of trouble if necessary without bogging down. Mentality left over from riding motorcycles while surrounded by idiot drivers.

 

5th with family in truck, 6th alone (usually AC running with family)

 

I am shocked at the 5th and 6th responses :0.. If it's a long stretch I am usually at 4th at 35mph it I am accelerating to say 60mph I'll shift to 4th at 40mph

 

I use 6th at 40. That puts the RPMs at about 1250. With bigger, heavier tires I probably wouldn't though. Or up hill. The engine does fine on flat ground though, and the ultra gauge shows lower fuel consumption at the lower RPMs that 6th gear provides.

 

I'll run 5'th at 35 mph on flat ground all day long. Stay outta 6'th until I'm in the 45 mph zone.

 

Usually 3rd. If I shift to 4th, I tend to get above 35 and sometimes that's a dangerous game.

Funny you mention that. I rarely use 3rd or 5th in my truck. They are basically useless
