Brand new Extang Solid Fold 2.0 for double cab short bed. It has never been installed since it was a replacement for an older model solid fold cover that was defective and I decided to get a shell instead. Extang required that the defective cover be returned in the box that the new one came in so that is why I don't have the box. It does include all mounting hardware.

    NO LONGER FOR SALE.

Local deals only... Katy / Houston

This is what my buddy's Solid Fold 2.0 looks like....
    upload_2016-6-30_21-33-7.jpg

It comes with the "sun-induced" wrinkles from the factory... He has had it replaced 3 times and is about to ask for his $ back.... I checked mine and found dents where the 2nd fold sponge thingies rest on the front panel... mine has not bubbled like this "yet", but I'm considering a warranty return as well...!!

I'm waiting a month or so and maybe ask for another one..!

Feel where the foam thingies hit the front panel... do you feel dents..??

Awe crap! I asked for a full refund but they wouldn't give me one. I thought if they sent me a newer model then I could sell it with a clear conscience. @rhc0930 please have a look at the post above. I don't know if this issue can happen on the new one I have but be advised that their warranty is non transferable.

@over60 what was the resolution for your buddy's cover and yours? Did you get an explanation for the buckling? thanks!

They have ordered him another one....!! I personally would have said "give me my money back", but he says they can keep replacing till they get it right...!
I have not bothered to take mine in yet... waiting on my buddy's experience..(I only have small dents) not visible..

Due to problems reported above and other research indicating bad design, this thing is off the market!

They have not pulled. Based on the pictures you ( @over60 ) submitted (thanks for that - I'd rather find a problem sooner than later), more internet research, the fact that Extang does not offer a transferable warranty, and what I believe is the start of some panel separation/buckling, I decided to call off a pending sale that I had. Additionally, I believe the 2.0 to be an inferior design because my regular solid fold that i had to turn in, while it leaked a lot, was strong metal and the 2.0 is a weak layered foam material. As you can see in the pic, the material is just foam with thin plastic layers facing out; this does plastically and permanently deform when compressed or exhibited to a buckling load. Also, panel delamination is possible and occurred very easily on test sample after a few sun cycles. I dont want to sell something that I suspect to be a problem.

is the Extang Encore the same as the Solid 2.0? Thinking of getting that instead of the Solid 2.0.

I agree with you... I would recommend that you do not buy one of these... It seems that the glue that was used to hole the outer plastic has separated in my Buddies covers...... Mine has dents, but not separated yet...I'm waiting to see what happens this summer and will then look to a warranty for another, maybe...

    Good luck
