    2) Am I correct this mid sized truck is basically same price of a F-150(Depending options) but in the area

yes there are some issues with the '16 but they can be minimal and resolved quickly and easily, and yes they can be even more expensive that the american counterparts, but your definately paying for higher quality and reliability sometimes. just my two cents. i used to have an ecoboost FX4 and my wife currently has a 2wd xlt crew cab and let me tell you this little jap truck is leaps and bounds over the ford.

My 2005 4x4 with 200K miles no issues ever, pulling a 18ft enclosed trailer loaded with dirt bikes all over TX, OK died in 2014. I have a happy car now which I got in 2013 as a commuter. I need a truck but see these Tacoma's all over the place just as I see the F150. These days I really don't need a FS and I know my Dad will yell at me for buying a Toyota made from what I assume 300 miles down the road BUT why should I get a smaller truck for the price of a big one. (non 4x4)

Why are you asking? Were you thinking of purchasing? Yes, like most vehicles have minor issues, but comparing price against F150 has no relevance if looking for vehicle that is different. Like saying does Ferrari, depending on options, differ from Porsche?

If you want Ford, then go there, but if Toyota, then compare against Tundra.

To me, yeah the extra room is comfy in the F150, but the Taco is alot of fun to drive and will last alot longer and hold it resale value better (and cost less to maintain overall). And it fits in the garage.

I dont think there is any automobile with better resale value than a tacoma. And this includes 1995.5 to present. Im sure there are special cases of classic cars or odd ball collectibles. As far as vehicles still in production the resale of the tacoma is the best.

Yes I like the look, the size. I am short at 5'6 not that that matters but don't need the full size truck and will not own a Chevy or GM product. I see these all over the place. At 48 yrs old only owned a Ford product so that's the reason I ask. No interest in the Tundra, does nothing for me. I was really curious on the price. A friends dad got one last weekend and I am to test drive it this coming up weekend.
    Thanks for the info

If you are a big Ford fan you may want to hold out to see the Ranger, same class as the Tacoma. Chances are it will be less reliable and not hold it's value as well, but it should be a reasonably decent little truck.

Yeah they sure did go the Ridgeline route in the styling department. Mistake IMO, but millennials will probably like it.

Yes, Tacoma for me fits my lifestyle and what I need as a truck. We have a nice Mazda 3 which gives us good mileage when needed, but the truck fits the duties it is in intended to. I don't need a full size as I don't pull any full size trailer, but I do like going fishing, off road on forestry roads that sometime need 4 wheel drive and have some snow issues here in the great white north. Don't need anything too extreme, but this Tacoma and the 2nd Gen I had previous handled all the tasks I asked of it previously, did it without issue, so I would recommend the new 3rd Gen 3.

I know the TOY's are reliable vehicles, the Fords I've owned are getting better. I had to say the "Gay Car" which is what I call it(Focus) at 70K miles isn't going to make it much past 100K plus it doesn't work for my home depot trips and I so do not look cool when I do the annual camp out/fishing trip with the High school guys

Gay car - IMO a cheap 4 door. My life plan didn't work out as planned. That was supposed to be a part time car for work travel and that only at 32+ miles to a gallon. Job loss, everything had to go and I mean everything so I was stuck with that. In the rebuilding stage and after having to make 3 trips to HD to carry 80 bricks, I have to call it an end to the "Car" No offense to the gay community, just a figure of speech
