Dropped the truck off tonight to get an alignment tomorrow. Same place that did my skidplate mounts for me not even a month ago. The general reaction from the guys there was "holy sht what did you do to get those tires on there". Lol good entertainment. Some dude picking up his dodge was a bit upset my little truck has the same size tires as him. I guess I hurt his tiny pride.

What are they anyways? Looks like someone took a regular pod and put one of those 100watt leds you get off ebay for about $10 in it. And jacked the price up.

 

They are home made, but I think this guys pretty legit. I don't know for your on TTE on Facebook but he's one of the admins on it. Also runs his own page, DIY Modified Tacoma.

Detailed the engine bay and installed an Alpine knob on my dash so that I can control the bass.

 

Actually those leds are beasts. Thats a pretty good idea. Might have to try it myself!

I'd buy two of those and a haress for $120 before some retrofitted no name 100w LED that would overheat in that tiny ass housing.

 

He says he's ran them for 4 hours none stop, and they're 100% warrantied. I'm not gonna buy them. I better just save

You hear "he says" a lot with random "vendors." Warranties don't mean shit unless the company backing them up are good.

 

I guess that's true, oh well, I'm not the one to risk it.

 

Look at the size of the heatsinks on a 30" light bar (~150w), then look at the size of the heatsinks on that 100w pod. High output LEDs put off a LOT of heat and need appropriate amount of cooling.

Wait til a vendor on here offers up a group buy for a 30-40" light bar and jump on it. It'll be cheaper than those two home made things, have a warranty from a company that actually has some business history, and it'll last longer because the majority of the vendors stuff uses CREE leds (best in the business) and that guy is using a $10 led from ebay.

 

If Facebook would load I'd show you what he uses. I'm pretty positive it's 100% legit good lights.
