Little more progress.



This is the problem area. It's not horrible, but it's hard enough to line up fiberglass when everything's straight. And knowing its bent bugs me lol. You can see how it's even a little bent up by the body mount.





That's after we pulled it back out a little too.

I know right? They hide it well haha

 

Well, get with it girl!

 

Painted it and made it all pretty the other day





Then put it on the truck and got the new bushings in then bolted that part down.




Then the next day...IT'S ALL BACK IN THERE. FINALLY lol Went though and rivoted everything. Still took a little body work because we discovered the part underneath the battery that's part of the fender was actually pushed back a little. But with a little convincing with a hammer, block of wood, and a torch, finally got it back all together!

I ordered a new center support so that ugly one in the picture will be gone haha. My fenders should hopefully ship tomorrow. Discovered my radiator has a little leak so I'll have to bring that to get fixed too.

Radiator pulled out and dropped off at the shop yesterday. Checked the timing belt and water pump since we were in there, looks like both were replaced recently

My valve cover had a pretty good leak and wasn't looking forward to having to take it off and possibly reseal it...but discovered the bolts holding it on we're actually really loose. So I'm hoping just tightening them fixes it!

Used some engine cleaner and got most of the oil off so it looks a little better. I also found a new dome light in the junkyard so replaced that. My fenders shipped and should be here next week!

She already travels plenty with the blue yota...she should long travel this one and beat it unmercifully.

It has begun. Mmmyeah.

 

Ok so I'm already losing track of what things I've said haha.

So I've been making about 50 million trips to the junkyard. I've obtained a dome light, blower motor, A/C condenser bracket, new door handle (I beat a guy to it by like 30 seconds lol), emergency flasher button (first owner wore out the front since he worked construction), some trim pieces, and a new hood. Pretty much got all that stuff installed.

Turns out they couldn't fix the radiator ugh...so had to go buy another one. Now I'm waiting for the hoses to come in.

Radiator is back in with the A/C condenser. Most of the stuff up front is back on other than the headlights and grille and things. Removed the bed liner, talk about EWW. There was stuff under that thing from the first owner, even small pieces of concrete lol. I'll share a picture. Cleaned that out. The bed liner was in great shape and even after it had just dumped rain on it, it was perfectly dry underneath. I was worried it was probably all rusty and it's not. Managed to sell that along with my front and rear bumper and original fenders so recouped some money from that. Sanded the top sides of the beds a little and repainted bare spots. I need to do the bed itself to hold it over until I probably line it someday.

I think that's everything I've done up until now. Just waiting on the hoses that should be in saturday hopefully and the truck should be back up and running at least.
