    Ehhh I doubt it, always good to play it safe. I share a prejudiced opinion though since the first time I needed a pull from another truck was on this trail :rofl:

    Engage Offroad long travel front and rear with some fat tires.
    no matter how easy the trail, you should never roll solo... too many things can go wrong... not worth personal safety... especially with this So Cal heatwave...

    thanks for the tips guys. Looking forward to try this one and also heading up to big bear area in a few weeks. 7 Oaks campground. A friend knows a few trails we're gonna hit and may consider doing the green valley lake to big bear city trail too

    Anyone know of any good 2wd trails Near Ventura/Santa Barbara/Los Angeles/Santa Monica Mountains? I am in a 2013 DCLB 2WD PreRunner and I'm looking to go exploring this weekend!

    this is late notice, but we are going out on Sunday if you want to join in

    July 03, 2016.
    I am planning a trip to Alamo Mountain, which is in the Los Padres National Forest, just outside Hungry Valley. The trip starts inside Hungry Valley and travels into the National Forest and up to over 7000 feet of elevation to Alamo Mountain. It is a 41 mile round trip from the Hungry Valley South entrance gate.

    So far my wife and I are going and Odinsbro is a maybe, but hopefully.

    Reply to this and tag me with @Z50king if you are interested.

    If y
    Stick to the main road & you'll be fine, some of the harder areas are doable in 2wd.
    I've been there multiple times, no issues at all with main road, even have done a few offshoots, & my truck is 2wd without a locker.

    @Z50king

    Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I have to go into the office for a bit on Sunday. I'd be available Saturday. Would you think I'd be able to tackle a trail like this on my own? This would be my 1st "real" off-roading adventure. I've only been on a few trails around my house that are about a mile each. I haven't gone on a "day trip" type trail.

    Just go to hungry Valley and stay inside the park. Get a map on the way in and stick to green and blue truck trails. There are always people in the park so you have help if you need it. Most of the east side of the park gets t-mobile reception.

    You'll be fine. Go have fun.

    @Z50king what time are you guys leaving? I just barely saw this right now. Might be too late as I'm in orange county. Also have a 3 month old we'd bring. Is the road pretty violent? Leaning towards skipping this one LOL
