Padre Island Natl Seashore Run January 9th

Maybe next year...I'm moving down to Mission, TX in February and looking forward to many trips to South Padre with the family.

 

well im going for sure i think now im going to leave from south padre and head up then head back to college station after the meet

yea i looked there but something about they were banned in 2003 or some crap

 

count me in, maybe some fishing i will do, but at least drive all the way to the jetties would be fun, the GF is excited..Im new to the forum but a long time lurker and browser since 05'..thanks guys..ill stay in the loop and cant wait till next weekend. Hope the weather will be great.

Yeah man I roll with plastic gas cans too. I have (2) 5 gallon ones I use. Metal jerry cans are cool but I dont use them enough to justify them.

I think they were banned do to the fear of static electricity sparks traveling through the metal or some shit like that.

 

I thought that they were banned due to our good friends in California's restrictions on "emissions/polution" and the build up of fumes and pressure due to the non-vented lids. I know the sale of the metal cans without built in venting was banned in Texas, but I managed to find some Jerry Cans at an army surplus store in west Texas about a year ago. See you all this weekend. In addition to bringing extra fuel and wind protection-the forcast for Friday is 30 degrees, so be sure you have warm clothes. You Northerners will probably be running around in shorts, but it was 50 something today and I was freezing my @$$ off.
