Yah I don't get them sometimes, the worst is when it's scheduled to be delivered by ups, then the day it's due they transfer it to usps and it adds a day.

Well I checked all the places I get parts from and they do not make gaskets for that pump. So that means it's prone to failure. I would try out those ebay gaskets if they are close to the same dimensions, just make sure to use new head bolts and torque them properly for the bolt hardness. Smaller pumps rattle themselves apart and loose gaskets frequently when run hard.

Thanks for looking - yeah, it wasn't a very expensive compressor, and I wholly admit that I am to blame... The head bolts were definitely loose when I disassembled it - I bet if I had taken the time to torque them down once or twice in the past, the gasket might have held. As it stands, I will measure the gasket when I get home and see if I can find something halfway comparable. Like I said - I've got nothing to lose at this point. But I really do appreciate you looking.

Trust me - that crossed my mind. And it may be attempted if I can't find a comparable aluminum gasket. I'll just make sure to stand far away from it after turning it on in case the pump decides to lose structural integrity. :D

When I was a young lad we repaired our gocarts cracked cylinder head with JB weld. Ran for a day and then threw the rod out the side of the motor. We couldn't JB weld that unfortunately.

Never had my go-cart throw a rod, but we melted holes in a bunch of pistons using to much NOS.

Little 5hp briggs and stratton back in the late 80s. We didnt have access to much money, we were kids.
Way back then it was Edwards on Cave Creek road. It was just a yard full of dirtbike and go cart parts. It was the only place we could go for things like that.

Ya I had a very different set of tools avaialable to me that most kids didn't have access to. Still used a briggs and stratton at first tho, started with a 5hp then a 6.5, then a 8.5, then got crazy and made a shifter cart with a 125cc 2stroke. It helped start a trend that continues still today.. I'll say that was in the late 90's and early 2000's haha

as Nate said.. speaking of Go-Carts.. I have 6.5hp lawnmower sitting in my side yard.. and since we have artificial grass now.. I've been eyeing it to build a go-cart. something extremely basic, easy, and cheap. lol

I'll have to make it lockable when I move back to Tempe. The amount of Dildo enthusiast per capita is way higher there

Vertical shaft engines do not work to well for go-carts. You need a Horizontal shaft small engine.
