what effect does the etching have on the light output? Do you get a shadow or something?

 

Actually none. I've literally put masking tape over a projector before and still saw a cut off against the wall.

I actually know how to make it happen but I would need someone that has the most precise CNC machine possible. Something that makes watch components or something
