Just clowns looking for attention is all they are. It gives them something to do I guess.:notsure:

It`s really simple if one chooses to buy a filter of this type, do not over oil it or you will have problems, I have never had to clean nor replace a MAF using this type of filter.

Thanks for the part #, this is something I'll be putting in for sure. Cheap and effective upgrade. Even if it helps mpg by .5 I'll be happy.

I have had K&N (which I am sure this TRD Filter is the same manu) in numerous vehicles, boats and motorcycles. I have never, ever, had any issues, other than a dealership throwing the filter away thinking it was the same (don't do drugs).

I didn't say there was a horsepower increase, throttle response is increased, it is possible there is a minute HP gain, but whatever. Again, I'd strongly suggest trying this out.

As to gumming up the MAS? Ummm, don't use so much oil?

It makes a nice noise... Which I like but it's certainly not a perf upgrade.

I don't doubt your enthusiasm after spending $60 bucks replacing a perfectly good filter.

The problem is, here in TW - everything you can imagine has been tried and tested. Putting on a new air filter is not going to net you any type of gains.

People just need to admit they like engine noise. No different than the days of flipping the intake cleaner lid on the carb.

I like the noise of some drop in filters, but Taco's just sound odd no matter what. The 4.0V6 gets stupid fucking loud with intakes, even drop in K&N's are loud as hell, so I'm interested to see how loud the 3.5 is.

Also doesn't Toyota require the TRD upgrade drop in with the 2nd gen Supercharger?

It is a bit different. Watch the video I posted above debunking CAI.

When you physically change the diameter of the exhaust tubes, or add extra volume, you can get a difference, however, it is probably negligible.

Dual exhaust and less restrictive mufflers, don't feed into a sensor that will change your engine mapping. Cut those cats off and you'll have issues.

But I will get gains by putting the K&N sticker under the hood and on the back window correct? Also what's the biggest tire I can put on my stock TRD Sport? And what is the best lift?

If it doesn't gunk up your MAF then you don't have enough oil on it and are letting a bunch of dirt into your engine. Lose lose. Use paper. If you really want a reusable get a foam filter that doesn't require oil.

There's a guy in another thread looking to discuss a V8 swap. Get a tesla motor and run silent when you need to be incognito lol

Please give an update on how those K&N stickers work. I am actually interested in seeing the amount of HP increased.

Will do. But it will probably be less effective with the 3.5l Atkinson Cycle motor. K&N hasn't had adequate time to R&D the new stickers.

Stock paper filters are always the best. Cleanable filters like k&n let more crap in than the oem papers.
