    Three day weekend!
Done with work, sorta sucked today with the humidity.
Big front coming by in a couple hours to shake things up a bit. Severe storm and tornado watches up.
After that, humidity drops like a rock and nice weather for the weekend.

Well, my best buddy got his stitches out and cone off this morning. But, we received some really bad news. The growth was a grade 3 mast cell tumor. We don't know the severity of it yet because the vet just had received the report right before our appointment. She is going to get a consult from NC St and somewhere else my wife didn't remember. Now, our daughter, that's in VA Tech PhD school, has gotten the path report and looking into options there. Needles to say, this is devastating to us. For Toby!!!

Thank you Susan. We are trying to talk to her about another, but she'sreluctant.
But thats the same thing she has said for the last 93 years....Mostly Chi's.
I swear all those dogs have helped her live this many years.

Happy Fourth of July weekend all you nifty fifties. Been stuck at work doing 11 hour shifts all week. End of the model year for the boats I build, pushing the last of the 16's out by the end of July. Enjoy the holiday and be safe.

Is there some place that will have rescue dogs over the weekend? You just have to stop and get something for a friend ;), and there will probably be one that she can't resist. Pets have been shown to help people live longer - gives them a reason to get up and move. Hope she can find one she can't resist.

Thank you all for the kind comments. Rich, I hope all goes well with Grandma. Maybe she come around to getting another companion. I don't think it has hit me yet, but my wife starts crying every time the subject comes up. The way the vet talked he may only have a quality of life for about six more months. Hopefully, she wil come back with something more positive. VA Tech has a joint vet school with the university of Maryland, and the daughter is going to check on a clinical they have. But, he would have to go live with her for a while. From what I've read, treatment only buys them a few months, and we don't want him to be miserable through what good time he has left if that's all it will do.

A girl I know rescued this fine pooch from a high kill shelter. She was half starved and had to be shaved to the bone! Loaded with bites! She was in bad shape but with a bunch of love and care she is a fine example of what a rescue dog can be. She's a awesome dog!!image.jpg

Exactly... Wish I could bring them all home!!!

:( Have to measure quality of life vs quantity of life. Tough call either way.

    She's cute.
