    Helm,
I agree with all Jager reports. My 02 extended cab came from Oregon. Spent 3 winters in the ADKs at school. 263,096 current miles and registered in 4 different salt filled states I'm now in Texas. I started the frame warranty repair in Virginia when I had the rear diff replaced due to rusting out at a Toyota dealer. The dealer initiated the process through Toyota corporate. I had to cancel he frame swap while waiting for the parts to show due to a job move. Once moved to Texas the local dealership got the warranty going agan. I'm currently waiting on the frame. I had the frame reinforced on the left rear before bringing it in for the differential and mentioned it in my conversation with corporate.

I had an answer from Toyota within a couple days but still waiting on the frame to arrive.

    Good luck.

Toyota will sell frames once all the warranty claims are finished .

There had been some company building frames but I think they ran into issues .

Having one Custom built is always a option but expensive $$$$

I wouldn't trust line-x, as that would trap water against the frame and would rather use a product like Fluid Film, which is always active and easier to apply, especially into the box frame where the corrosion eats from the inside out.

Thanks Mark! I'll look into Fluid film. My frame is in great condition but started noticing some surface rust and definitely want to nip it in the bud now before it ever becomes a problem.

Yeah, I started using the Fluid film 11.5 oz can and it did a decent job. After learning the box section design traps dirt/moisture through the front wheel well holes, I decided to invest in the "Kelly Sport" Fluid Film kit. Having used it for the first time this spring, I can say that it worked great and saved me money buying the 1 gallon jugs on Ebay rather than the cans. What I liked the most were the 32" extension, it lets me get deep into the interior box frame, were most frame perforation happen on the 2ng generations frame failure.

How do you prep the frame? Im sure its on the instructions. Would I remove the surface rust first or is this a converter/inhibitor type of stuff?

I wish I used it the first day it was in my driveway. My Tacoma passed the LSC, so now it all about extending the life of the frame. What is truly amazing about this "sheep wool" derived product, is that it will creep into places that you can't reach. There is a video of a guy spraying, like a 1" circumference circle with Fluid Film, he comes back 2 weeks later and the circumference has doubled, 2 weeks later and doubled again. This product is always active and doesn't wash off easy, so I'm a believer.

What I did was use a pressure washer and remove any debris from the frame, other than that just have a dry surface. Make sure you use a ventilator and eye protection too. I did mine on the grass, which made moving and over spray easier to deal with. I also raised the Tacoma using ramps on the front and made moving/accessing the frame easier. People have put ramps on one side, but using the ramps on the front were easier for me and helped a lot.

Watching some video's now on Youtube. There are quite a few video's out there of people saying the same thing. My Tacoma was bought in Mass and 2 years later was brought down to Va. I was in the Western part of NC for the first two years of ownership. Now I moved to Dallas so Its extremely dry here so if I stop it now, I should be good to go. Thanks again!

No need to remove rust, this product basically deprives the frame of oxygen, which is needed to convert the metal frame to rust. It always looks wet and doesn't harden like some products, so no worry about water getting trapped against the frame. Great stuff!

Yeah, why not have a preventive mindset. This is assurance that a premature frame failure won't be the first thing that grounds your Tacoma. Inexpensive, easy to apply and non toxic, so for peace of mind....why not??

Night and day! Thanks for pointing me to this stuff! It's great. I think that the previous owner had replaced the frame. I called Toyota because there was a "recall" on it and the lady on the phone said work was done but it did not say what that work was.
