And my 2004 with 95k looked like it rolled out of the showroom when I sold it. Maybe it's where the truck lives or one is garaged and the other is out in the elements? It's interesting how the condition on these trucks can be so different.

I see many complaints about the 1st generation taco seat belts. Has anyone found a solution that can fix the problem?
    Thanks

As far as the seat belts go i am sure you can maybe take it apart and try to clear debris in there but idk mine always get twisted and dont retract correctly until i make it lol.
So my complaints would have to be the side seat plastic trim always breaks, seats are a bit uncomfortable compared to other vehicles. The AC rear window latches i broke 2 and are expensive to replace. Clock placement is lame but i am gonna put some switches there  Bed is shallow and had to get linex asap due to rust spots and compared to 2nd gen style its sad lol... But so many more positives over those few unimportant negatives :) and WTH is up with clutch start cancel i think it was a waste of money, time, and design unless i dont get it correctly haha but ya only use it to start vehicle when im not in the vehicle...

Unlike the 3rd gen Tacoma, there are not enough places to stash weed.

Only real complaint that I have is the fuel filter. I have the 2.7 liter 4 cylinder and changing the fuel filter is a real pain. For those of us who have done this and that is most how can you not hate it? You would think they would have made it and the oil filter easier to get to so you can change em since they have to be changed regularly in the first place. I guess it goes back to engineers design em but never work on em.

I've had mine for about 2 weeks now, 2004 prerunner. Love it, but I hate the clock placement and the parking brake, but overall, it's the best truck I've ever bought.

I hate my supercharger, throwing it in the trash this weekend....

    j/k :D

Honestly, I can't think of anything I hate about this truck. I effing love my little radiant red '04. If I had to nitpick, the clock is definitely located in a dumb place.

My truck won't fire up when I have the clutch start cancel button pressed, it just turns over real slowly but won't catch. Starts up like a champ just fine normally though  I guess that's a gripe I have with it, but that's not 1st gens in general, just mine. Oh and the AC needs an overhaul.

I hate the fact that the clear coat is peeling pretty bad. I also hate how the leaf springs sag. Oh and I wish it was 4x4.

Still the best truck I've ever had. I love my little green taco.

    Check Build thread
Dash rattle, underpowered on grades, rear doors on double cab sometimes don't close cause the latch gets stuck, but that's about it:D

My clock isnt bad because the 95-00 steering wheel was easier to see past.

The only dislike i have for my Tacoma is the fear that it will rust apart to nothing.
