The Atmos AG was in serious contention but I went with the Granite Gear Crown 60 instead. The 2# weight difference was the deal breaker. Otherwise it's a great pack, fits and rides very well!
And with 2 GGs, an Arc'Treyx, 2 Ospreys, a LowePro and a ULA... I had to draw the line somewhere!

Dammit, now I have yet another pack to research and probably blow my money on.

    1. See edit above.
    2. I really like the Crown 60! It's biggest drawback is not having a vented back panel...
I really like a simple, no-frills pack. 27 pockets and 14 draw cords really turns me off a pack.

I bought a pack today! Went with the Stratos 24. 25% off at REI right now.

That puts me at 5, technically. A North Face Terra 65, Osprey Daylite, Osprey Stratos 24, Osprey Porter 46 (travel pack/carryon), and a little hydration pack from Walmart that actually is not that bad.

Will probably get a mid sized pack like an Exos 38/48, or something light in the 42-45L range for when I have gotten my gear down to be able to work with something that size. I'll eventually phase out the big North Face pack.

It depends on the trip. Most of the time.

    • Nikon D3300 stock lens - Small and light for a dslr
    • Gopro Hero4 Silver + 2 batteries
    • Samsung s5
    • Sirui Travel Tripod - If solo and less then 8 miles
    • Remote Shutter button
    • USB OTG cable and Cable for Nikon
For those over/under water pictures I take my Gropro Dome Port Housing but that's only if its a short hike.
    example:

For those selfie stick shots I just my trekking pole with a handle bar mount attached to the tip.

Speaking of GoPros, I am considering one. I just don't know if I can justify a real GoPro because I dunno if I'll use it enough. Anyone used a Yi or SJ400/SJ5000?

I bought my Gopro from REI 20% off almost a year ago and didn't actually start using it until a 2 months ago when I went to Maldives. Before then my photos and videos looked like shit but I watched a few videos and talked to a guy who is into Surf Photography and now they are looking better. I usually just use it for photos because I don't want edit video no one is going to watch lol I like to set it in time lapse mode and have it take pictures while I'm doing something you get a lot of good ones that way.

Well if you're gonna go there, I've got a Porter too. But that's my travel luggage. We try to only fly by carry on, especially when going Space A...

33, 50, and 60L packs. I'll never get rid of my big one, it's the only thing that holds a bear canister! I would have bought the Exos in a heartbeat if it was a few liters larger...

For sure. I'm actually kinda nervous about checking my duffel full of gear when I fly to California later this year.

Well, I caved and ordered a GoPro Hero 4 Silver. Not sure how Amazon has them for a big chunk cheaper than everywhere else ($40), but it is what it is. Used some CC cashback to offset the price difference from a knockoff. ;)

I pack my high dollar items in/as my carry on. Pack, sleeping bag (inside pack, compressed) and a change of clothes. Sometimes, if there's room, my hammock and tarp. These are not so easily replaced. Everything else I can buy quickly if lost.

I noticed that when i loaded up the pack and tried it out in the store. I found the Deuter Futura Vario Pro (50+10) to be more comfortable and quiet. Went with it instead and couldnt be happier.

I did not precool but it stays in the garage and overnight temps are usually in the 40s here. Everything that can be frozen is, everything else is in the fridge ahead of time. I don't think they account for opening the lid in their estimates....I'm in the cooler at least 5 or 6 times a day (3 for meals, 3 for drinks)

Oh, and when I ordered it there was a 2 month -ish backorder. Got mine in about 4 weeks time.

    MT girl,

Make your cooler a five sided insulating cover out of some Mylar (the silver stuff) bubble wrap and some colorful duct tape.

That's going to be my next endeavor - to make a blankie for it. I was thinking of using the silver stuff that windshield shades are made of, sewn together
