Anyone know if Corey is going to be reachable today? I'm trying to sell one of my wheels and tires, and was waiting on a text from him so I can help wrap up my truck. I was over there yesterday evening and was planning to over there early this morning...

No clue. I've only text him a couple of times since I got back from RT. Sometimes he responded, sometimes not.

Another thing if you guys need to get a hold of me, shoot me a text. I don't have time to get on as much anymore. Bye

Anybody done Red Cone trail? There's a spot all of the trail sites say is extremely difficult but I'm not convinced. Anybody know?

Yes, there is a tough spot. Do you have rock sliders? If not, are you prepared for body damage?

I've got sliders yes. No skids other than the stock IFS but I do have sliders.

Or does anyone has any trail recommendations?
Limited slip, 265/75/16s, sliders, 2.5" lift

Motivation was getting to a higher place to camp on his way to doing a 14er. It wasn't a wheeling trip, and he basically confirmed he has little to no off-road experience. Putting it nicely, he simply overestimated the capability of himself and the vehicle and underestimated the situation and snow.

For educational purposes, in looking at that last picture. At that point, from what I can see, the thing to do would have been dig out in front to go forward and get the rear back up, and then dig out behind to back out of it. Let's assume they had a strap and could have hooked up the jeep to the rear of the FJ. Would it have done any good? To my noob eye it doesn't look like it, and would have just risked pulling the jeep down too because to back it up the front was going to have to go over the edge to get the rear to steer up it. Even if the jeep had a winch, I can't see or think of a way to anchor it to be able to pull the rear of the FJ back up onto the road. So armchair quarterbacks go - what would you have done at that point based on the information you have?

No, but don't try it not expecting. If you slip off the line you can expect damage as the ledge keeps getting bigger and bigger. (In old/wise sounding voice) I remember when that was not even an obstacle

Thinking about doing mosquito pass instead. I have to head to Buena Vista next weekend and I'm coming from the Winter Park area so I'll head to alma and then over the pass to Leadville and continue on.
