Why shouldn't I trade my 2016 Rubicon for a TRD?

My 98 has 4 in.beefed blocks, QA1 up front, turbo. My 15 4x4 stock looking for lift and tires.
I had a different problem, I wanted the all black Dbl cab 4x4 sport "longbed Manual trans".

For some damn reason they just dont make those. So that sucks.

I guess the only way id trade my 15 for a 16 is if i could get one like mine but a manual trans.

I didn't know that. I just figured the color black was the real issue due to low demand for that particular config.

I've got a '13 JKUR 10A, which I'm just sick of. I've had 3 jeeps, and I'm sure I'll miss having a Jeep once in a while, but I firmly believe the US govt did the public a huge disservice by bailing out Chrysler and not letting them go under. They build shit products, always have and always will. I pretended for years Jeeps weren't as bad as Dodge trucks, but I was lying to myself. I'm done with US car manufacturers. Ditch your jeep and move on I say.

yeah Chrysler is crap. the two redeeming things of Chrysler, at least in my opinion, was the ram with the cummins, which isn't even chrysler, and the jeep brand. now Cummins imports half their parts from china, and jeep is owned by fiat, and has terrible quality control just like every other Chrysler brand vehicle.

I own a 16 trd OR. Drove it from South Florida, through the Yukon to Homer Alaska, then took a ferry to Kodiak island. Thing was fun to drive. Gave me 0 issues. Took it off road plenty of times during my trip. The only issues I had before I left was the high pressure fuel pump making a chirp sound. That was fixed before I left and hasn't made a noise sense. I am happy with this truck. 17s won't be different from the 16s. I don't know why people think issues will be worked out. I'm sure they are being fixed as it goes which in turn will be fixed on 16 models.

Private party man, dealers are sleeze balls with trade in, they always give you the bottom end of trade in value then turn around and sell it for $3k more.

Exactly, this is how Toyota works and issues are addressed with TSBs for the previous model years. Same thing from 05-15.

Are you not willing to consider an auto? I love to row gears, but that Wrangler Rattle made me a lot more hesitant about manual trannys. Im NOT turning this into an auto vs manual performance off road/on road discussion. I think those debates are pretty much pointless. To me, warranty and mechanically speaking, the auto has better warranty coverage. Most manual trannys are covered, but it's the other 'wear and tear' items associated with the manuals that burn your ass on the warranty coverage. Those are normally covered for 12k miles.

I have had several manual trannys, one of which was a hopped up Mustang Cobra with 535 rwhp. Im no stranger to a manual tranny. Ive even had a Jeep and 2 pickup trucks with manuals. However, all Im saying is if you are willing to dive in, then maybe at least test an auto or two? That may give you the added benefit of more available trucks, in addition to more comprehensive warranty coverage should something go wrong. Ive driven a 15 OR manual and liked it, but I also have a bad shoulder, and even had a shoulder replacement a month ago. Autos just make sense for me with my medical issues on my shoulder. You may not even be open to an auto, and that is fine, but just wanted to encourage you to at least check out an auto, if for nothing else other than a real world comparison. That is your choice.

I have nothing against auto transmissions, there is definitely a place for them. I just prefer a manual transmission, and if I am going to shell out over 35k for something I want it to be as close to my preference as possible.

just remember, kbb doesn't write checks for cars.

put a free add up and see what comes your way on the jeep.

(make sure nothing sharp is on the floor when you fall off your chair.)
