Give me some money so I can fill in this info
I wondered the same thing. Take a look at it up close... Looks almost impossible to accidentally drain oil. They also make a clip for the mech too

Maybe I'm being paranoid but I have hit sh!t on the highway that would shear that valve off. Not often. But enough times to remember it. I'm trying to justify the benefits over the risks. My luck some a$$hole would flick the lever on me!

I don't do any serious wheeling with my truck but so far no issues with my Fumoto valve. It makes changing the oil a bit easier in my option but it does take a little while longer to drain, I guess due to the smaller size of the valve stem versus the drain plug. I've never heard or read from anyone that the Fumoto valve was torn off, not saying it couldn't happen but I'm thinking it's pretty rare.

I've had the fumoto valve for 5 years and never had a problem. I don't off-road at all. And it tucks up in the skid plate. Someone would really have to look for it and know what it was to drain your oil. Of course it could happen. But someone with an ajustable wrench could drain your oil plug also.

I changed the cabin air filter, this is what it looks like after little more than a year. I also had the tires rotated. Next up is the diff oil change and spark plugs. I was in Wally World today and almost bought the Supertech branded fear oil but just couldn't do it. Any opinions on that stuff?

Replaced the turn signals in the ARB light kit with some LED bars. I think the angle will light up the sides of the road really well. Also did the fog light mod.

And I wired up some work/camp lights. They need a little work, but they're functioning prototypes.

I agree, I've always thought that if you did something to tear that valve off than a whole bunch of other shit is coming out with it.

Yeah, they are. I thought the mount was going to be strong enough, but I might have bent it too far while installing it. I'll upgrade it soon I figure. I hope to get around to a write up on these and the turn signal lights soon.

That's on my list also, you should spray some fluid film on that frame and stop that rust.

Yep. Do a search on here, many people spray there frames to keep them from rusting. You can get spray cans or by the gal and spray it on with a compressor or undercoating gun.

It would be nearly impossible. You would have to lift the lever up out of a the slot then turn it completely to drain the oil. The spring is decently stiff. I also put it to my lever is in the back making it even harder. If you are worried you can by the protective clip for it as well.

You dont even need that. I drove 3 cars on air bags that all had this valve. Someone would have to turn it for it to come out naturally.

If you hit something that had you have other things coming off with it. This are solid brass and they are actually really tough. Put a skid plate on and its no longer a problem.

This 100% This valve is a beast. You will ruin a lot of other things if you hit something hard enough to tear it off.
I hate fluid film. I am going to wait a bit til the warranty is up, pop the frame out and just powder coat the entire thing. If I am feeling ambitious enough I will problem strip down the bed, the fenders, the doors, and the cab and do the same. Paint is inferior, I like being able to push dents out without ruining paint. I also wont get upset going down a tight trail because I wont get scratches.

Just wasn't sure if that was a "technical term" or actual brand. Thanks

You may not need to worry about it, I see your from Co. I also lived in Co for 35 yrs and never had a problem with any of my trucks rusting. It's for people that live in rust belt areas that use salt and other chemicals on the roads.
