Bought my truck two weeks ago and asked the service manager if he knew about these trucks shipping with low atf. This is a huge dealership btw. He said he didn't know anything about it, no tsb. Asked if anyone has inquired. Nope he said. I told him my drive shaft had no grease when I went to check/ fill it and I guess no TSB on that either. He blushed a little. Total BS. Once you sign on the line you are on your own. Thank goodness for these boards. Not the Toyota I use to know, feel like I am dealing with Chrysler in the old days.

Finally got around to doing the differential breather mod. Routed up to the tail light. Next will be the a/c drain extension.

I love my 3rd gen but I hear you. I have no faith in toyota service departments. I've let toyota coorporate know about everything done wrong in hopes the info will be passed down. I'm not looking to throw anybody under the bus. I Just want the tech working on my truck to have the same pride for his company that I have in ownership... All you can do is let toyota know and hope it trickles down.... And maybe start learning to do things yourself lol:D

Ok, i decided to jump on the bandwagon and Plasti-dip my grill. I do agree it looks much better black than all that chrome!
Now, waiting on my Clazzio seat covers and hood decal from Teqdecals.com

Completed my 9000 lb. winch install. I chose to go with a "portable" winch (weighs a ton!). I added a receiver to the front of the truck. I ran 2ga. wire to a front and rear connector. I added a power switch to the dash so the connectors are not always hot. Next, I secured the winch inside the bed of the truck. I cut down a clevis trailer pin mount and welded it to a bar that utilizes the two forward bed bolts. I was able to install a hitch lock. I can also fold the winch up and secure it to the forward bed wall to make more room to haul something....or remove it entirely.

Very nice setup! Does the power switch give power to the front and rear simultaneously? Awesome storage solution in the bed as well!

Thanks. Yes, the switch powers both connectors simultaneously. I think the storage in the bed turned out well. Using bungee cords did not work...lol.

You even get to keep the backup sensors? I had assumed those would be gone with this. Awesome.
