and like i said, since i just bought an 07 for 24k, i guess thats me. it really doesnt matter what its "worth", its what u'll actually be able to get for it in the current market. hence, u'll never get 23k for a 3 year old truck, when another 1k and a brand new one can be bought. i'm selling a house right now and i all too well know about market value vs. actual worth.

You need to take into consideration location as well. I'm sure that truck is worth 23K. Also is yours a 4x4 b/c that adds a lot of value. From what I can see that is a great looking truck in great shape. That was the exact truck I was looking for before I bought the one I did. I couldn't find one here except in white (I don't do white) and that had 90K miles on it and they were asking 19K for it. Since his still has a warranty too I would expect to get around 22 for it. Anyways, good luck Stealth.

there's a big difference in a supra and a taco. #1 is its a sports car which is always worth more and #2 is the fact that they arent around anymore. and thank u MarkC, atleast someone sees my point. i wouldnt pay 23k for an 03 when i could get an 07 for 24k, regardless of if i liked the 1st gen better. and when i had my lowrider, we had chapters in 26 states and 2 other countries, so i know about inflation from region to region.

and this is one in my area here...

I really was going to try to stay out of this... I really was, but I came home in a bad mood, and saw this and I just had to chime in.

Point one, I agree with MarkC and jhodge83. Realistically, you be doing really well to see 20 grand private party. And before you procede to jump on me for "whoring your thread" too, here's why.

    1. You DO NOT have a limited, You have an SR5 with painted bumpers. If it were a limited the little SR5 badge behind your quarter windows would say LIMITED.

    2. You DO NOT have a towing package. a towing package includes a heavy duty alt., extra trans and oil coolers, and a 7 pin connector. No-one with a gen I taco has one, it did not exhist, what you have is a dealer installed hitch, and 4 flat trailer wiring period.

    3. Your 3 year 36,000 mile warranty has expired on time, and the Toyota Certified warranty is not transferable in a private party sale.

    4. I just traded in your exact truck, with a manual trans, and in green, with 3000 less miles, and a bedliner, tonneau cover, and "sliding rear window" (part of the SR5 package sorry no extra money there) for $16,500 which was exactly the KBB tradein and that almost never happens, so I am sorry, but you will get more than that, but not your hope of $6,000 more on a private party sale.

    5. It's also kind of hard to sell to a private party without a free and clear title, and since you just bought it last year I tend to doubt that you have.

    6. As you have already been told there is a drastic difference between book price and real world price. Comparing Supras to Tacomas is not apples to apples, sure I could sell my concourse class 64.5 Mustang for 10 times it's purchase price, but no one would line up to pay me $250,000 (ten times the puchase of my truck) for my 07 Tacoma. I suppose you expect to get book price for all your baseball cards and comic books too right?

    7. I am glad to hear that you are a finance major, since you are still in school you still have time to learn more things about the real world, and if you'd close your mouth and listen sometimes that would be easier. All jhodge83 tried to do was to tell you that your price was a little steep. You hijacked your own thread by poping off at the mouth and throwing a tantrum.

In closing... Lesson for the day, know what you have before trying to sell it, and listen to people who are older and wiser and you might actually learn something.

Looks plenty sporty to me... It is a sharp looking truck. I would keep it, but that is just me....

    This site is a joke...

I have a clean title in hand, transferable extended warranties, etc.

But I can see I'm not going to sell it here... waste of time.

Guys, guys, guys! Calm down a little bit!

StealthTacoma, no one in this forum is out to get you or hurt the sale of your truck. The whole reason for having this forum is for other people to help you, not hurt you. Just calm down and let people give comments or advise about what you are trying to do, which is sell your truck. There was no reason at all for you to go off on jhodge83 or anyone else for that matter.

This site is NOT a waste of time. It is very helpful and you make some great firends here. So I don't think you have the right to say this site is a "waste of time" and a "joke". If you truly feel that way, don't log back into it again. We are only here to help.

I hope sell you truck and can get the most out of it! Good luck!

all i was saying to begin with was that i paid 24k for an 07 DC trd sport...there's no way anyone would pay that price for a 3 y/o truck. basically i was saying that he wasnt gonna get his kbb price off of it. i wasnt accusing anyone of trying to rip anyone off or anything, just stating the obvious.

After seeing the bashing lately between a couple of the more established Tacoma forums that I have been a member of the past two years, it's nice to see TW striving to keep a clean and civil house. Hopefully, TW will remain a place for helpful advice and sound counsel. Counsel like some of the posts I read in this thread.

    However...
Remember Stealth you came here and signed up -- we didn't come find you! You then post a vehicle for sale that unfortunately may not get your asking price. Then decide to get mad and throw a tantrum... :( :(

Most here already have a Tacoma and from what it appears are probably your elder. You should show them a little more respect. To be honest, no one here really cares that this has been a waste of time for you because basically life is not about you! Hopefully, you'll learn that one day.

The TW members took time out of their busy day to try and help you with some links and sound advice, but... it wasn't about them it was to help you! You need to be a little more grateful and stop thinking about yourself so much or life is really going to kick you hard... that's a promise! From what I've read it sounds you could use it. Posting the ridiculous "TW is a waste of time" is pathetic, juvenile, snot nosed and disrespectful to people trying to help. You better GROW UP fast kid!

Geez, what is going on with society today? Man, I'm getting old and starting to sound just like my Dad. Oh well, Father's Day is around the corner and I'm a new 40yr. old Dad. It's about time I grew up, huh! :D

End of rant... sorry guys / gals... long day at the office.:D

So as to be helpful to this thread... Stealth, I suggest you shop the vehicle on Ebay and / or locally and see what kind of response you get. Hopefully, that WILL not be a waste of time. ;)

Delete it. I see this same junk on one other forum that I only look at for information purposes, but only have a couple of posts asking questions. I support this site for the civil manner people address each other and the effort people put into resolving problems. Snide comments only degrade the core aspects of this forum. Just my 2 cents.
