I really don't think that drilling such a structural bolt is a good idea and safety wire or a cotter pin are not necessary as soon as the uniball breaks in it is a non issue.

safety wire is done in aerospace all the time and in racing industry. its not going to harm the bolt if done correctly, its just going to keep it from spinning.

I dont see an issue with running through the truck with a torque wrench a few times. So its a regular maintenance thing in my book

Yeah pretty much once you mod these trucks with aftermarket suspension you should be checking torque on everything at least once a month or before and after every offroad trip just to be safe. Did I do it pre-LT, not really, maybe before each trip I'd do a shake check and just eyeball everything to make sure nothing looked loose, but post-LT I'm checking that shit weekly to make sure I don't end up with a 50k paperweight on the side of the road

Edit- doing a full tear down in 2 weeks for more painting and then putting loctite on everything with a good torque check, AND THEN a torque check on the beach after the 3 hour drive.

Regarding paint pen, I just went through my front end last night and tightened everything, LCA bolts were still torqued but had rotated so my paint marks didn't line up. In looking at it, the top of the uniball bolt has nothing to prevent it from rotating, the bolt head is just tight to the uniball, and the nut on the bottom is tight against the washer and spindle adapter which is where the rotation is happening. So, it is still rotating like what causes the nut to come loose, but the nut isn't loosening now that the uniball is broken in (thanks Loctite).

Waiting on MetalTech to ship my LCAs, hoping they ship so i can have them for next weekends install before Pismo. Otherwise ill be pretty bummed. Amazon has ruined me for shipping expectations, although i feel 2 days without any shipping info is a bit much.

You sir have the exact build I'm after. What did it take to get 35s to fit? I'm guessing you have about 3" suspension lift- any body?

Yeah, but your inner fenders are gonna look like shit and alot of guys end up splitting the pinch weld and having leak issues. Or they cut it off and weld in a new patch for more clearance.

No, I'm 99.9% sure that he had the 1" body lift a looong time before the crawl box because I've teased him about this being the " without body lift thread " before.
