Usually flashing means that it's in the process of going from 2wd to 4wd.

When mine flashes I throw it in neutral and it'll kick in or out

the it sounds like the alert you get when going into 4low. I would put it back into 4 low with the truck in neutral. Then go to 4 high and then to 2wd.

Yeah I know flashing is usually when going into 4wd. Just wondering if it also functions as a failure warning. Like a TPMS light. Flashes when reseting or when there's a failure in the system.

Edit: I will never understand how to multi quote without my original quoted message.

When shifting to 4wd high do you hear the click of the front differential engaging?

I've still never figured out multi-quote. I usually just push quote on the ones I want to quote and they show up in order.

Have you driven it on the street with this happening? I would try to start driving in a straight line. Lightly try to turn the steering wheel. If you feel a pull then the truck is still in 4wd. If it's not I would continue in a straight line and go to 4wd high and then back to 2wd.
On a side note driving in 4wd on dry pavement and turning could damage your drivetrain.

Once you click the "mulit quote" button under a post, it gets saved and you have to click the "more options" tab in your reply box then "insert quotes".

    took me awhile too ;)

@Siknezz805 let us know what the dealership says, very interested to know what's causing this

I'm going out on a limb and guessing it's a system failure alert or a fail safe mode of some sort. I can't imagine it's been "trying to engage 4wd" "because the light is flashing" for this long.
