Does anyone know if there is a way to enter info into the navigation while driving? I had an after market add on that allowed me to enter an address or poi while the truck was moving.

You can choose presets while driving. Other than that, I haven't delved into the functions of the unit itself.

So your passenger couldn't enter anything either? That seems stupid. I get the distracted driver part but there should be a seat sensor or something.

That absolutely makes sense, default of the safety if it senses a passenger and it already has that for the airbags.. does any other manufacturers offer that as a way around the legal reason for the block.. if not I hope they catch on and do that. Or make it possible

If it is the same as the 2015 Entune, it's horrible anyway. Better off using a phone or other device that uses state of art tech.

I use WAZE on my phone anyway. Way better than the truck nav

I followed directions to voice train my system and it doesnt work worth a damn. Between the road noise, my squeaking suspension and drivetrain howling...no dice. Maybe when sitting still at a light.

I started to look into that, and when I saw "voice train," I got even more angry with the system and didn't even attempt it. I don't have to train my phone to do voice Google searches. So fuck your lame system, Toyota. Give us docking ports for how we live today.

I like how it can't give me traffic data for a good 5+ minutes. You know why I got in my truck? To go somewhere. Now.

What pisses me off most is that settings don't stick. I upgraded my audio and the voice defaults to an ear-splitting level. I set it to 2, and anytime in the next 2-24 hours it resets.

The rear locker is nice, but I lifted and really don't see why I paid for a TRDOR at this point. The entire audio/nav sucks donkey balls.

    This.

The truck's onboard nav isn't THAT bad, but I'm just used to Waze and how it works and like that it picks the shortest routes, attempts to avoid traffic, alerts you of police in the area, road hazards, etc. Plus when Waze gives commands it turns the music down so you can actually hear the directions. With the trucks nav no matter where I set the volume it's either too loud of too soft.

Wow, I just wanted to hack my navigation, not get everyone riled up. I have a 2013 gx460 with nav, I put a module on the front of the dvd unit and it lets me enter the address while the truck is moving. It was a plug and play mod. I have only had the truck a week but so far I like the Entune with nav.
