Since the oil was overheated, I'd suggest do a drain and fill, drive 500 miles to, then do another drain and fill.

So you got me reading about these kill switches. It would be pretty easy to steal a 1st gen as they sit...

It looks like some people go as far as installing an rfid immobilizer module and keep the rfid tag in their wallet. They do that on the fuel pump instead of the igniton to make it trickier to bypass. I am tempted to do this with an rfid module in the console right next to my right back pocket. I suppose you could wire in your own bypass switch and hide it somewhere hard to find/reach incase you loose your wallet.

Literally right after I posted about this there was a attempted car robbery across the street lol. I have a Clifford alarm but NEVER use it

Thought about cutting the clutch switch and mounting a switch somewhere

If going rfid I'd do a keytag and put the sensor by the ebrake behind the dash if possible, that way if you lose your wallet, let somebody borrow your truck (or at the mechanic), etc etc the truck is still operable.

If you cut the clutch switch, wouldnt the clutch over ride button still allow the truck to start?

Having a clutch is already a pretty damn good form of anti theft.

I think an overide switch would be intregal to the system. The rfid would be a matter of convenience, not necessity.

Didn't think of that lol. I think the fuel pump is the best bet. No idea where to find that wire.

While i see your point, I have heard that one of the most popular cars to steal was the 90s honda civic. Many, if not most, of those are manual.

If i had to land a guess, I would say it goes through the gromet in the floor under the driver's seat.

Hmm that's where I was thinking of putting the hidden toggle too. I know it's a blue wire too

Be sure your toggle is rated for the current draw for the pump.

I was also thinking about your clutch idea. What if you put the break upstream from the cancel switch? Ill do some wiring diagram study this evening. I like the clutch idea because it is a low current system and if the rfid system failed, it wouldnt kill the truck as it was going down the highway.

But what about using the clutch start cancel switch?? Would defeat the purpose. I have no idea what alarm I have. It's a Clifford one way. Also made me lock the doors in way to much lol. Even with the truck running

Whats wrong with just taking key out and locking the doors? Ive never heard of a car being stolen here and nobody locks their stuff up...

Funny. My keys are in the ignition while parked more often then not.

Fuck it. The truck is insured. I get to go truck shopping if it ends up boosted!
