Good news, after talking to our guy he is going to do everything he can to have them done by mid week next week. Then we have to ship them to us which means we should have them by the end of the week and shipping early the following week.

Hey Joe - Don't you feel just a little embarrassed and guilty about how you're treating
those of us who have stuck with you since March, through the proof of concept, all the
fitting trials, the difficulties with your fabricator and then your powdercoat jobber? We
have stayed loyal through all the slipped delivery dates, six months of broken delivery
promises. We eagerly paid upfront to help defray the cost of development, wanting
to be on the cutting edge of these new mods. And now you offer a free cap with the
purchase of a skin when the first of the new caps shan't even been shipped yet!. What
about all of us who have already bought and paid for our caps, and are still waiting on
them to be shipped? You must not think very highly of your customer base if you are
willing to treat us so poorly. I told you earlier that I would rethink your new bumper,
well I have and I have decided to pass on it. Screw me once, shame on you - I will not
give you an opportunity to screw me again. I'll look to your competition for my bumper.

Well, we dont think poorly of our fanbase. @jowybyo and I discussed this before we started the promo and agreed that because you and a couple others have been waiting so long, and we still havent shipped your order, and now we are running this deal which is slightly unfair to the ones still waiting that we were going to refund the cost of the caps to those still waiting and ship the caps when they came in. I never brought it up because no one asked and we figured we were just going to do it and send a note to each order once done, I think it is 3 people total that has already bought the skin and cap but is still waiting on the cap. If you have only bought a cap, then it does not apply.

Sorry you feel as though you were treated poorly and unfair. We didnt do it on purpose and I see now that we should habe contacted you and the few others prior to releasing the sale just so you werent in the dark.

Hopefully this resolves the bad taste we may have put in your mouth. We take our customers all very seriously, without you, we dont exist. I appreciate you brining this up because it is giving us the chance to improve.

Let us know if you need anything else and have a safe 4th!

This is the reason why I have waited on getting a cap for my truck. After the initial "available now" for the tailgate skin, only to find out it wasn't even ready to ship yet... made me a bit upset to be honest. I really don't like being billed for a product that technically exists as a proof of concept, but isn't available to be shipped immediately (I went through this with another business online just a few weeks ago and had to elevate it at PayPal before they started communicating with me). Bumpers are huge, and I get that production delay, but for smaller items like the caps and skins it seems odd to me to keep "selling" them, but then you don't actually have them to ship, but offer a sale on them anyway. The best part of this whole thing for me as a prior customer of your tailgate skin is to see the 4th of July sale where you're offering a free cap to those who buy the skin right now? Wow... that makes me feel like a sucker for buying into your products so early.

Joe makes a good product, yes, but too frequently there are posts that it's ready to ship now, only to find out later the product still hasn't been made or issues with powder coating, or shipping, etc, etc. The powder coating issue should have been rectified previously, or another powder coating company should be sought out. If the powder coating is such a huge delay, maybe items offered should have two options (Powder coat, or no powder coat). I would prefer no powder coating as I can get a good deal locally with a guy I've worked with several times and his turn around is a week (or less). <-- This isn't always a viable option for everyone though and I get that.

If you're building mods for a current gen vehicle, wouldn't you think it would be wise to either rent the vehicle so you can get your measurements vs. waiting on a customer to bring their vehicle around every few weeks when they are available?

I guess the good thing about your current sale is that it's going to keep me as a customer from buying your products in the future when they are a first run product. No point buying into it when you're going to offer an additional item for free with it so soon after release, right?

There has been delays with first run batches on the tailgate reinforcement plates and then the tailgate reinforcement caps. The reasons are not important anymore.

The plates are now and have been in stock for over a month. The caps are scheduled to be in stock by the end of this coming week and we will be shipping immediately.

We had made a note on the first run of each that there will be delays in shipping while we ramp up production.

We've already made plans and have noted that anyone that purchased a tailgate reinforcement plate, and have purchased a cap will refunded for the cap if they have already purchased it.

No one will be getting ripped off in these situations. The delays are unfortunate and unnacceptable. It is not something we typically face. We are doing everything we can to resolve the situation and feel as though we are being more than fair.

Please hang tight with us as we get through this.

    Joe

Certainly is, all of a sudden with these two particular parts. We've been using the same company to make all these items for us and are in the midst of moving away from them. Lately they've been unresponsive and extremely delayed on getting us the parts. Thanks for sticking with us!

    TL;DR
Us: Caps are free with a tailgate plate. WTF, I still don't have a cap and I had to pay for it .
Joe: Shit, I forgot to tell you that was happening. Sorry about that here's your money back

I know I'm a little late in saying anything about this as other have already voiced their concern.
I felt a bit betrayed when I saw the sale go up last Friday especially since we are still waiting on the first run of caps. I had already bought the plate and literally within 5 minutes of them posting that you could buy the cap I did, along with a couple of other people. I originally figured I was basically shit-outta-luck. It's their business and they can run it how they want. Though it didn't really line up with how I thought they wanted to run things because I've had great service from Joe so far.

When I bought the tailgate plate back in May it showed up damaged. Nothing major, just some minor damage from someone at FedEx having a bad day or just being careless.

I didn't think I would be able to repair the damage to satisfactoraly myself. I was disappointed, so I contacted Joe about it, and he immediately dropped another one in the mail. The new one showed up looking perfect .

I also bought a pair of sliders from them back in November 2015 when I ordered my truck. I didn't get to install the sliders until the end of May (got the truck mid-May). In that time they discovered a tooling error where some of the sliders came out just a bit long in the front. I found out when I couldn't get the sliders to bolt up to the truck. I contacted Joe with some pictures and ask him how to fix it. He was able to tell me exactly what I need to do to get the problem resolved, and I couldn't be happier with the results.

I also know another member, @TacoWocko, had a similar problem. They packed up their gear and drove 6 hours to his home to fix the fit issue with the sliders (link to post). I live about 1400 miles away, so a visit was not something I expected.

After reading through Joe's posts on the matter it sounds like they had already planned on refunding the cap for those that bought the cap pre 4th of July sale and had already bought a plate. Which is more than fair, and in-line with how I thought Joe wanted to run things and my experience thus far. It seems like the problem popped up because they didn't give a heads up to those that already bought both. It would have been a nice surprise when I got the refund, but it makes me feel better knowing ahead of time.

I would not hesitate. The product is very high quality. The tail gate skin fit is perfect, and really makes the tail gate nice and solid.

The issues have been worked out. We were having issues but theyve been resolved and we moved on. Its why everything got held up. Caps are scheduled to be shipped from powder coat to us tomorrow and we intend on shipping all the caps on order and any 3rd gen skins waiting early next week.
