I'm glad I could help. You should tape that white wire black so you know in the future. Good recommendation for anyone to take a picture of the wires before you pull off the old fixture.

So just curious but you have a spare red (I'm guessing a spare white too) in the switch box; is a spare white in the ceiling?

Was that room something else before, like the light fixture could be controlled from two different locations?

I was thinking something was wired at one time on a three way switch.

Very well could be. I was thinking a special switch could be used to provide separate light and fan controls if the red wire goes to the ceiling box and switch box only. Something like this.

Sounds like you got it figured out here. If you have a red in the ceiling, you could use it to switch the fan. As mentioned before, the second line in your switch box could be for a switched outlet. Open up your outlets and see if you can find that wire anywhere.

Took out kitchen floor and some sheetrock (on patio) ... putting kitchen back now ... hope to finish a 19 year construction project ... replacing bay window units next ... then sell the house ... :)

Did most of it myself with a few helpers ... reinforced patio is 20' x 35' and did that and tumbled stone wall and brick pavers too ... the 4x8x16 tumbled stone wall is very heavy

Faced with the task of removing about 35 tree posts I had post pounded about 2' into the ground for a temporary safety barrier for a client who was hosting a wedding at their house I came up with this idea to extract the posts , worked pretty good and those posts did not want to come back out

It came with the 75" I'm going to pick up the 55" and maybe the 105"
Trying to plan a way to haul the rails, probably going to build a padded plywood box.

They also have a 197" rail....

Yep 75" doesn't fit. The box I can strap down and not worry about damage/bending as much.
