Camped at Fort Davis Mountain SP from x-mas to today, hit a freaking deer doing 75mph while driving back from Big Bend. Check out the Pics.. Question.. what would have happened if I had the ARB or Shrockworks bumper? Upgrade time.. :D

For those keeping score, it's time for my second oil change, and I just broke 9500 miles when I hit the deer... I used my pocket knife to remove the plastic pieces in the fender well, and damned if the truck didn't drive straight.. so.. I towed my Trailer 540 miles back to Katy the next day.. You may have even seen me driving by today.. the truck was really ugly with it's damage, and I was barely able to open the driver door enough to get my big ass in the seat. Any guesses on what this is going to cost to fix?

damn..did you keep it? At least the head gear?

Let me tell you this, I hit a deer once(well twice actually) and the damage was a few small dents in my fender, a BIG dent in the passanger side door, missing chrome trim, and some paint...It was still over $1,000.

I'd assume yours would be closer to 2K, if not more since they have to probably replace the front bumper, the flare, headlight, and what ever else is messed up behind all that.

My guess is this will be well over $1,000.. you can't really see it in the picture, but the Driver front panel slammed into the driver door and it is out of alignment... Every single piece of plastic has a crack or is snapped on the front end (both sides) of the truck. I am amazed how well the little truck did on impact though..

yeah, I thought someone might get the Humor.. thanks. I was very tempted to drag the deer back across the road to get the Tacoma in the Picture as well but.. maybe that would be going to far.

    That Sucks Ass man.

Definitely time for ARB, that deer would have bounced off the front like it was nothing.

    Covered by insurance?

Yeah, I have insurance but the deductible is 1k. Going to try and work a deal with the Body shop to fix everything but the bumper, and then get the ARB and install it. Can you freaking believe it.. I told you I wasn't going to upgrade until I smash the original... somehow, I thought it would take long than 6 months..
