    Actually a lot of the noise at idle is allegedly the self cleaning process. Don't hear it every idle but it is much louder at times. I still had my 2nd gen for a month or so after I bought the 3rd gen. I showed a few people the noise difference. I thought the 4.0 was loud enough. That one had that piston slap just like my older 2.7 had. I was concerned about that noise too.

    Not new to VVT Toyota motors, just haven't had one this loud. I haven't been around enough Gen3 trucks with the 3.5L motor to discount the noise as normal yet. I was thinking about test driving another new one to see. I guess if other people are hearing it, weee hoooo, screeecchhh brrraaaaappp! LoL

    Funny thing. I just sold my stock wheels/tires/TPMS sensors today. $900. I was kinda hesitant on selling it, as I like to keep stock parts, but I really can't see myself putting the stock wheels back on anytime soon. At least if I sell the truck, the stock sport wheels are pretty easy to find.
