    Yeah. Consistency is huge. I usually do 20-30lbs on the ezcurl barbells...(small weight compared to y'all) You can also switch off the order too to change it up after a while. Such as starting with the lower motion, then full range, ending with the upper half. Keep the muscles guessing.

    I'm not pulling much more than you are. I never did this at all till 2 yrs ago at age 40 so I really have to be careful. My EZ bar is 60, dumbells 25 to 40 depending on the lift.

    I do 21s with just a barbell (45lbs). It's usually my finisher on back/bi day. I'll do 3 sets alternating the order of the curls each time

    I do 21s with Dumbbells. But, instead of bi-lateral, I hold one dumbbell half way curled (think parallel to the floor) while I do 7 with the other arm. Then switch. Then switch and do the next 7, etc etc.

    Probably dumb question but I've never measured my arms and chest except when I first started losing weight. Do you guys measure flexed or relaxed?

    Biceps flexed. Chest with arms hanging by your side.

    For u arm guys...you'll get a nasty pump here

    Alternating db curls (drop set with 5 drops) right to cable pressdowns (drop set with 5 drops) repeat twice

    Rope hammer curls s/s flat bench single db extension (head hanging a bit off bench, lower the db slowly to under your head/bench and then extend straight back) 3 sets of 10 to 12

    Have fun!

    Never done that with DBs but I have with a cable. You've got to have one of the shorter distance dual cable machines and you hold one with your arm at 90* and curl the other 7times and switch. I just keep going arm to arm until I fail. Don't have that machine now but I used to love that pump :pout:

    Watched this for the first time, pretty good info. basics. got my mind centered before making gains

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9zCgPtsups

    on a side note, for the arms stuff, specifically db biceps stuff, I find that doing 2 reps with 1 arm before going to the other for 2 reps gives the muscle an extra "pump" that it doesnt get if you just alternate singles. In my my mind, any muscle can produce 1 rep then a break, so by doing 2 before switching, you make that muscle work for the pump. so I end up doing 8-10 reps total, but in groups of 2. for me, it works. I do that with pretty much all bicep workouts, until my last set of whatever exercise. on that one, once I get my 6, 8, or 10 reps, I go singles back to back until I cant lift anymore to burn that muscle for good, keeping in mind full extension and not breaking form.

    @Newlife
    Copy that man. It's hard to justify the cost, as I do a lot of training out of the gym. But I enjoy the amenities of golds and get in there 5-6 days a week. So just a little over a dollar a day most months.

    I am challenging myself to curl the straight bar(45) 100+ times again without stopping. I can do 35 right now. Back in high school (can't believe i say that now. I'm getting old) I could do it daily.
    Lot of great info and motivation here.
    @sean266
    Great tips and workout there. That will be tomorrow 7am for me!

    Which golds? I went there and looked at it and All they showed me were the pool, suana, and locker room. I didn't see much else. Only extra I use at my gym is the massage tables. Of course that's all we really have.

    We'll have to get together one day and do this 100 rep challenge. Of course after I get the all clear.

    On another note I got Stacey to help me measure my biceps. Pretty embarrassing but gives me a good starting goal. My left is obviously jacked up 14.5" :-( my right is 16.5" so getting there. Chest is 40" now I did do what I could to flex my chest out but kept my arms to my side. I never thought flexing my chest would hurt but it doesn't feel good. I'm guessing it's where he dug around my tattoo to the anchor point during my shoulder surgery
