    Why is the American Valve 4" x 3" adapter advertised as a Discussed Product at the bottom of this page?

    You would only need that if you get the prefilter. It goes from the snorkel to the prefilter that's shown next to it.

    I initially put it on when I was living on the East Coast where we got really wet heavy snow. The air filter has stayed amazingly clean so I just left it on.
