Another 2-6 data point here. 3/16 Texas.

2 were just a hair under, like we're talking 1/4 turn or less. Other 6 were good to go.

I'm gonna make some wild speculations here and guess that maybe what happens is that they don't "double back" to that first one they tighten.

Texas build 01/16. All 8 bolts were ok at 52 ft.lbs.

I have to ask since I am dumb when it comes to this stuff, does a 1/2 turn really matter on u bolts? What is the torque before turning that 1/2 turn? What happens if they are all 62lbs?

Checked mine just now, about 750 miles on my truck. Got about 3/4 turn out of all 4 on the drivers side, at least 1 full turn out of all 4 on the passenger side. I will check them again in another 750 miles and see if they've come loose or if the bolts have stretched at all.

Maybe Toyota finally read this thread and checked the bolts at the factory..????

Likely. If you do your own lift it's always suggested doing a re torque after a bit of driving. Plus it's just good maintenance to look after them.

My truck was built 6/9/2016. Bolts were NOT correct from the factory. With under 100 miles so far, I had almost 1 full turn on each nut before I got to 52ft lbs. My torque wrench was calibrated during the winter...so I trust it.

I'd like to know why 52 if Torque specs. and parts manual says 37.

I think it's the leaf pack settling/compressing with time... which also means Loctite won't help since the nuts aren't backing off.
Read through this thread to get an idea. Even 52 is low compared to industry practice. 37 is ludicrous.

Service manual actually has both listed (I don't get updated versions though, I just have an early one). One is a typo. I would never go as low as 37 on these, so I assume 52 is the correct one. That and all of them on my truck were very close to 52 when I checked for the first time.

All 5 zerks were bone dry. Nothing on anything but assembly lube. Geez.

Trans fluid was exactly 1/2qt low. I had to argue a bit with them to check it but once I showed the service Manager this web site (and related thread) he said he'd do the manual check. I requested a real service order on this and it added to my VIN:

MISC. SERVICES ~|~CHECK TRANS FLUID LEVEL ~|~MANUAL CHECK TRANS LEVEL WAS DOWN 1/2 QT ~|~ADJUSTED TO FULL

Hey fellas, how do you know where your truck was made? Mine says made in the USA, are there different factories in the US? Thanks for your help.
