As predicted, my front-end is saggin' from the weight of the skids and sliders. Hopefully the 887s bring it up to just around 3.

Well, I finally got the 887s and rear dakars installed. With two little kids, a shit ton of chickens, piglets on the way and working, I still managed to find the time to get it done all by my lonesome. Its still a tad nose high - I need to take it out for a ride to see if it will settle in the front, but I won't have time until Tuesday....so sad. If it doesn't settle, I'll have to go down to 885s or buy a bumper.

What do ya think...need bigger tires!?!?!?!?!

haha im really jealous of your rig. Ive wanted 235s for a while but ended up with 285s. tried to buy some 235/85 mtr kevlars locally 2 weeks ago on a public sale group on FB but the guy sold to someone closer to him. Ive got 885s waiting to go in and i need to do something about the rear so i can get rid of my AAL. let me know how you like the dakars.

i like my 285s dont get me wrong, its just tough driving on the beach in soft sand riding the clutch trying to get them to move. on street driving i dont notice it at all besides driving up hill ill have to down shift into 4th often on the highway to maintain my speed. i think they look great but then again i also think 235s/255s look good to. i think at the end of the day it comes down to function and our little 2.7l trucks will function better with 235 or 255s. i just got a deal on used 285s when i lifted my truck and was kind of persuaded into bigger is better from what i was reading on here.

Finally got to drive it! The front came down considerably. Hopefully it settles a bit more and I can avoid having to go down to 885s.

    RF: 23 3/8"
    LF: 23 1/4"

Little known fact, industry standard dictates that all lifts should be compared to the height of a 4-year old:

Industry standard also dictates you are required to have a photo of your truck with one front tire up on a rock.

Love the dakars! Not at all stiff and pogo-sticky like I thought they would be. I also do a lot of hauling of this and that and they are freekin' awesome. I can double the weight in my bed now, easy (although the 4-banger yells at me a little).

The OME setup front is a definite improvement over stock. Really noticeable on washboard roads how much better this set-up is. Off road the 3 inches is really handy! NH trails are full of rocks and more rocks. That 3 inches makes life a lot easier. I can't see needing anything more.

All in all, I have no clunks or bumps. I do, however, have some vibes at 20mph. Time check torques and measure some driveshaft angles and get that figured out.

I live in the Concord area. Tons of class VI roads which can be really fun to wheel. You ever check out exploringNH? Great group of guys to wheel with.

Well, I had some vibes at 20mph after the lift. It was a metal on metal sound. I dropped the CB, installed 3 degree shims and finally flipped the CB. It got better, but couldn't get rid of it. Finally, I got under there and tried to see if anything was loose. Wouldn't you know it, the transfer case skid was loose. Tightened the snot out of it and that metal on metal sound was gone! There is still a slight vibe at 20 mph, but it is barely noticeable. I am going to put a fender washer in the cb every few days until it goes away - should be good.
