Still liking the 285's? Im about to install OME 887 w/ LR UCA's and was looking at the same tires. Any info will help, thanks! Great build BTW!

 

Thanks AK! Sorry for the late response, just saw this. Love the 285's and I think you'll be extremely happy with that setup. Taken them through all kinds of stuff and they haven't let me down at all.

 

Update:

Went on a trail ride a few weekends ago with Incognito V2.0's owner, @granstaco, and had a blast. Got to really test out A-TRAC and the rear elocker for the first time and was extremely impressed.







Took quite a bit of persuasion to get it back on flat ground but we managed. Good example of why wheeling alone not the best idea.







Just a little stuck....



Budbuilt IFS/mid skids. Saved my ass a couple times.



Little bit of flex with the AP standard pack.


















Next up is a set of BAMF weld-on sliders that will be getting installed this weekend. Know someone with lots of welding experience who laid down some incredible TIG welds for the gussets/frame plates. Always happy to see stacks of nickels like this.

 

Hey man, what All Pro leaf pack did you end up installing? Did you go with their standard one or the expo pack?

 

Went with the All Pro standard pack. Local member was selling the pair for $100 and I couldn't pass it up. Down the road when these wear out I'll probably switch to Dakar's but I have absolutely no complaints with them so far.

How do you like the leaf pack? Any problems? Vibrations or shudders?

How's it handle with weight? I love the setup with your truck in the photos and want to go for something similar. I would like to try and avoid having a droopy rear end while towing though.

No problems with the leaf packs, only a small shudder on take off (0-5mph) but not bad at all. Thanks!

Handles weight better than expected being that they're not the Expos/Dakars. Don't sag much at all with weight in the bed but they're obviously softer than the Expos. With a consistent 200lbs in the bed, they ride like butter. Hooked it up to a 16ft tandem axle trailer with 2 riding lawn mowers this weekend and only sagged a little bit.

What do you think is contributing to shudder?

Are you planning on solving the shudder?

 

Honestly I have no idea where to start with the shudder. It's not very noticeable but you can tell it's there. I might try a 3 degree shim under the leaf pack and/or a carrier bearing shim but it's not high on my priority list at the moment. All the research I've done looks like the fixes are hit or miss but worth a shot.

 

I am with you on that. All sound ressonable. I would make sure to measure all your angles first so you know where you are starting from.

I heard ECSG or something bearing could help.

 

Been a while since I've updated my build. Added a few things along the way and have a couple big mods in store to be installed this weekend.

Installed the URD TCAI and URD MAF calibrator this week, incredible difference over the stock airbox. The premapped tune from URD to accommodate the CAI is a great addition, can really feel a difference with the butt dyno. Doug Thorley long tubes will be installed next week pending the delivery of the URD O2 sims which are currently backordered.

ECGS assembled thirds with 4.56 Nitro gears, solid spacer, and CV bushing will be installed this weekend. Should be a substantial difference in power and acceleration for the heavy E-rated K02's that I'm running. Might be a tad overgeared for 33's but getting the stock power back will be worth it given that I rarely drive over 60-65 mph.

Also got the opportunity to get some mall-rated flexing during a fluke snowstorm earlier this year. Parking lots stand no chance against Incognito V3.0.

 

Regeared with ECGS assembled thirds with 4.56 Nitro gears, completed the break-in procedure and added King extended travel RR coilovers with 700lb springs. Need to crank down the coilovers a bit but extremely happy with their performance so far even without dialing them in.

Hardest part of the install was getting the damn dust cover off the hub.

 

Underhood LED strip lighting -

Added underhood lighting using LED strips from Amazon. Soldered the strip lighting to 16ga wire, then routed them to a pin switch via @tacozord's method to make it a clean install. Pin switch activates the lights when the hood is open and turns them off when the hood is closed, much like the lights in your refrigerator. Awesome cheap mod that is incredibly useful, much easier than having to rig up a work light to do anything in the engine bay.
