    Just starting
Happy 4th!! The springs that come with my fox shock is 600; not enough as I have some major lean in the left front. I called fox and they recommended I order a 14" 650 spring from pac racing. The standard spring was 13"

    Hope it works

If you think that 'trade in' will be that much of an issue then just keep the stock suspension off to the side and put it back on when you inevitably sell it back... In all reality these trucks retain so much value that the 'knock off' from lifting is absolutely nominal in the end. When I sold my 2nd gen, even with all the metal work on it, the difference between what a 'stock' truck would've brought comparatively was maybe 500-1K. But if it's that big a deal to you... It's your truck in the end.

I think i successfully made a "build page". Take a look if you're interested. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/louies-build-2016-trd-off-road-double-cab.417631/
That's a great point... about the purpose of the forum... to help someone with a quick answer instead of searching all day.

Now that I think about it.. once the Vegas heat quits I'm going to want to do the breather mod thing. I have seen it done a million times on here. Part #s, and all. Maybe I'll just throw a post out there "Hey, send me the parts and link to the breather mod". I'll probably search though.

Yea I was just saying how dealers in general use anything to take advantage at trade in. I am having stock suspension problems, both with stock and aftermarket wheels, and I would not be surprised if Toyota would deny the warranty if I had, for example, 285's on my truck with a big minus offset that would cause more stress on stock stuff. Fortunately my 17 x 8 with 265/70's are not big enough to be a warranty issue. That is why I want to get through the 3 year warranty period before I would go too far on lift or a cmc, etc. Regarding dealers theres a local one with a new access 4 x 4 and 4 banger SR5 lifted they have on sale for $38k. What do you think they would offer in trade for that truck. Maybe $24k.

I think people should try to remember that there are still people who haven't mastered the intardweb, are not forum savvy (like those of us who may have over 10k posts on other enthusiast sites), and may not have time to sift through the rhetoric that plagues many of the threads in some of these forums.

When people become familiar with each other, we tend to meander a little in these threads and derail unintentionally. It's not a bad thing, it just makes sifting through what should be a bag of sand into sifting a whole coastline looking to find out if a 912 base LED fits the reverse lights on a Gen3 or if it would be better to run a 265/75-16 on a factory wheel with no lift or go all out and get a 285/70-17 and rub like a mofo.

I spent about a month reading before finally signing up. I came from the Jeep world and we had the same struggles. Our typical repeat questions were, "Can I run 35's without a lift?" And "How do I solve my death wobble or shimmy?". We just tried to help or politely steered them to the search feature and moved on.

So far I'm digging this joint, aside from those AZ a$$holes! (I may or may not be one.)

To each his own, warranty issues and trade in's are different deals. Yeah, big T will probably find someway to screw you... They are all about making money.... But when it comes to buying your truck back, completely different story. They don't care either way if the truck has been lifted... As long as it looks to be in shape and something they can sell they will give you a deal on it and it usually won't be far off. Sorry about your issues. Hopefully they get fixed relatively easily.

My access cab had that rear wind noise which I stopped with the cheap pool noodle stuffed between the bed wall and rear of the cab along the bottom. While it works I would prefer your approach before winter comes here.

How much did you order of the hoodliner and dynamat?

    Thanks,
    Lynn

Painted those ugly chrome Tacoma emblems black today, and gave the taco her first wash.

Taped off the sides so it would go back on in the proper position
    20160704_155823.jpg

Used 3 coats of black matte spray paint, then used double sided tape on the back
    20160704_161839.jpg

Finished product. Turned out quite nice, I think
