Besides my serious sticking in gear problems I have noticed if I need to get into second gear but it's too fast for a 1st gear shift, and give it more then half throttle when the truck hits 2500rpm the entire truck shutters and bucks a few times.

It's just like if you completely miss a gear and mash the throttle and let off.

My dealer test drove the truck and recorded it as a major problem but are unable to diagnose weather it's fuel injection or throttle by wire.

Anyone know what the solution is, or experience the same problem.

This truck is a complete nightmare, what a turd, why don't they just bring over the hilux diesel from europe. This thing is gone once they get it working. I'll take the 5 grand loss but it has to be working before I can sell it.

If you think your gasser is a "turd" consider how bad the diesel would run once made to conform to our EPA!

It should run just fine, there are plenty of diesel engines that run phenomenal. Does your truck get stuck in gear on the highway, and buck when accelerating in second gear?

are you talking about a 1st to 2nd shift? It is incredibly tricky in this truck to get 1-2 smooth. With the gearing and rev hang, you need to be pretty slow on the shift or else you will get some bucking.

No, it's when already in second you accelerate for a bit, and then when you hit 2800 rpm ish the truck completely shutters and bucks it's kind of embarassing haha. It's horrible if you do a second gear start.

oh, i see, no I dont have that problem. It sounds like your transmission is shot between this and the sticking in gear problem. You seriously need a new one....

I fail to see how either of those possibilities are the cause if you only find this issue in 2nd gear. Your fuel injection system and throttle control system both do not give a rats rear wether you're in 2nd or 5th.

The mechanic was "guessing" it was a problem switching between atchicson and otto cycles (yeah someone correct my spelling). But there is no documentation available to diagnose this problem. And they were just trained on the systems, will be a lengthy repair. SWEET!!!!

Sorry it does do it in third but it's just dampened by the taller gear, but it's not noticeable in first though. Maybe it is the tranny????

Clutch system issue if you ask me. Sounds like your clutch is not engaging properly. I think there's a tsb for the gen2 manuals. Clutch master cylinder me thinks and/or broken clutch from forcing it. Your truck belongs at the dealership until they fix it - 30 days they have then they have to buy it back....
I'd demand a loaner until they fix the truck instead of letting them off the hook while they procure parts.

I bought a Toyota not a Dodge so I didn't have to spend 1 day a month at the dealer and going home without my vehicle while it gets worked on. Looks like I might have had better luck with the Dodge so far...

I got the bucking at first from 1st to 2nd in fact my wife told me she hates my DCSB 4x4 MT but a month later it's gotten a lot smoother due to me learning how to shift this tranny and things loosening up. Also the fact that the clutch engages so high doesn't help.

It's kind of shitty that you have to find only a sweet spot to shift at, I would expect that from a 1955 vintage car not a 2016, yeah mine is after you are already in the gear for a full second and clutch has been fully disengaged.

At 14k mine is extremely easy to go smoothly from 1-2nd. Gets better with time and your own timing. Best non car manual trans I've ever driven.

They don't have to diagnose which one it is; they have to re and re the injectors and throttle assembly until the fault disappears. Ask to speak to the dsp (district service manager) from the factory on their next dealer visit.

For what it's worth, you likely got the one built by Keith.

A little off topic, truck shifts nice except for going into 3rd gear. I feel like going into 3rd gear is not as smooth as it should be. I find myself shifting into third a little bit slower to ensure i'm not grinding gears. Anyone else having this problem or is it me just getting use to a 6speed.

Mine is the same, 3rd has always been a bit notchy. It's getting better as the miles pile up.
