In the last turn of the furthest part of the river in the top picture is a cove were they keep a fleet of all black war ships in the 60's. They called it the mothball fleet.

Probably because I haven't been here before. I'm actually not officially scheduled to be here for a few years yet.

 

i don't turn 50 until december so i'm early also i don't think you'll find a thread with nicer people welcome

 

christie and i spent our first 4th at home alone this year. it rained damn near all day then rt at dark all hell broke loose with the fireworks. we went outside to watch and the neighbors dog was so scared she had gotten loose and they weren't home. couldn't catch her at first but when i saw cars stopping in the road i got scared and went looking for her. i finally got her and locked her in the garage with some fresh water and stayed with her until her people got home. they said this morning this is the day each year when most pets are lost. felt like i did a good thing for her idk how good of a home she has but i kept her safe and loved for a little while

 

My two older sisters and the friends they used to have at parties when I was growing up are all in their 50's so I can hang with an older crowd. Besides, people over 40 have much more sense than kids these days. Damn I must be getting old if I'm saying stuff like that.

'Nuther day in paradise. @ work. Dealing with looni-boss again. Yesterday, he was having another manic episode.....Thought we were going to have tornado's and severe flooding. We had NEITHER. We got a good bit of rain, but we've had FAR more in less time. No wind....none even in the forecast. Not even a hint of lightning.....just rain....He wanted me to get my entire crew here, have them on "emergency standby" as he referred to it....I didn't call ANY of them in. (They would have though ME to be nuts too had I done that)

Today it's something else......New reason to panic!

BTW, I'm stupid. After doing this 27 years, I know NOTHING.

Hang in there 15 more days of work for me and then vacation through August and I am done with the rat race.
